Description: Located on Main Street in the Ocean Drive section of North Myrtle Beach, Flynn’s Irish Tavern is a locals favorite and a must stop for annual and first time visitors to the Grand Strand. Just a short walk from the wide sandy beaches and first class accommodations of Ocean Drive, and a short ride from the many championship golf courses that populate the north strand. Flynn’s is a perfect place to enjoy a pint or two after a day on the beach or the golf links.Flynn’s is owned and operated by the Flynn Family and the authentic look and old country feel of the establishment comes from Marty’s place of birth, County Roscommon, Ireland. The tavern is housed in the former North Myrtle Beach jail, in fact, the jail cells are still here and tours are given upon request.

“Cute decor”
Reviewed February 17, 2013 via mobile

The food was tasty, nothing outstanding. The wait staff was polite, no outstanding kindness. The beer seemed a bit flat. An OK place for dinner. Nothing outstanding.

“Flynn's Tavern”
Reviewed February 16, 2013

Went to the local Irish tavern tonight for dinner, first time for my wife and I. Great bar/tavern atmosphere! Local duo playing live music was an added bonus. We had the meatloaf and fish 'n chips, both very good especially for the price! Will definitely be going back!

“A nice place to hang”
Reviewed February 11, 2013

We have been twice so far, once for drinks and once to eat dinner. This is a popular place for locals and visitors. The fare concsists of both American and Irish food. My wife had the corned beef and cabbage which was the best she has had. I recommend the fish and chips. Enjoy a black and tan beer. Live music on the weekends. Food service ends at 9pm.

“Phenomenal”
Reviewed January 20, 2013

1st time to this Pub. It was packed, to no surprise. Made reservations ahead of time and that paid off, no wait on seating.
Service was exemplary. Jane, Amanda, Chelsy and Joanie, among others, worked like a well rehearsed ballet. At the helm was matriarch Jane, calling shots, taking orders and never standing still. Service was both accurate and fast. The prime rib was absolutely perfect as were the bangers and mash. A drier red wine would have topped the evening but no bad there.
The vodka tonics were generous on the vodka and delivered quickly.
Everything during this visit was great but the greatest aspect of all was the community that goes on between the staff and the customers. so typical of a real Irish pub. You're made to feel like family and your welfare is not only your server's concern, but all of the staff as they pass your table will inquire as to whether or not you need anything. The place is packed for a reason; Great Food, Great Staff and Service and Great atmosphere. Thank you all for a job well done. We'll be back and we'll bring some friends!!!

“Cold night, warm food!”
Reviewed January 16, 2013

This isn't a fabulous place - it's a homey restaurant attached to the bar. The thing is, it's some of the best food to be had in North Myrtle Beach. I had Chicken Pot Pie which is like thick chicken soup with a piece of pastry on top and mashed potatoes on the bottom. A couple more vegtables and some salt would have helped. But it was good and the price was right. My husband, however, hit the big time. He ordered the potato crusted grouper. We think they sprinkle those French's Potato Sticks on right before the cook it and they stayed crunchy the whole time. The grouper was cooked perfectly, and with the potato coating it was the best grouper we've had in the area. I'm sure it was frozen, but who cares, it tasted fresh and it was served hot. Delicious! We will be back for that for sure.
