“Our stays at Prince Resort are always great!”
Reviewed May 16, 2011

My family and I have stayed at the Prince Resort since it opened. It is a super nice and very clean resort. It also has a great location along the North Myrtle Beach corridor with a spectacular view of the Cherry Grove Pier. We stay in the 3-bedroom condo with another family that goes with us every year. All of us enjoy the condo because it is very roomy, spacious, and comfortable-just like home! During our stay at the Prince Resort this year, we had a very nice and friendly house-keeping lady that made us feel so comfortable and right at home with providing us with all that we needed and then some-she went over and above to provide for our 2 families---Thank you Veronica!!! Try the Prince Resort-it's a great place to stay!

Room Tip: The best view is Oceanfront

I was really hesitant to book the Prince after reading previous reviews. But we were very pleasantly surprised and experienced none of the issues reported. The staff was very friendly, the room was impressively clean and comfortable, the elevators were quick and uncrowded (all were working) and parking was easy. We were in a two bedroom, oceanfront corner unit (Tower One on the beach). The view was lovely. We liked the location...we prefer the quiet atmosphere of North Myrtle. Prior to this trip, we stayed at the Avista several times...and would have again if there had been availability. Now I am glad there was not because it gave us this opportunity to experience the Prince. We really like both resorts and would be happy returning to either one in the future.
I will say that it was a very quiet week and the resort was only partially booked. So, I can see where the elevators, parking, and registration/unloading parking would become an issue with capacity crowds...as is true of most resorts in the area. Its pretty hard to avoid these issues anywhere during peak season.

I just wanted to compliment the Prince Resort after our most recent visit. We had a wonderful time at this lovely resort. The facility is very nice and comfortable with easy parking and fast elevators. But, the very best part of the Prince is its staff. Everyone was just so nice!! Check in was quick and easy and the desk clerk was quick to offer great advice or discount tickets. The housekeeping staff was excellent. Anyone from the staff that we talked to greeted us with a friendly smile and kind word. Just made us feel very welcome and appreciated. We also love this area of North Myrtle, out of the hub bub of the beach traffic, the IGA and Basil's pizza had everything we could have ever wanted. One sad note, we went to our favorite seafood restaurant "Mr. Fish" but for the second time, only got a so-so meal. Very sad as it had been our most favorite place but is may have "Jumped the shark"!! New staff with little personal interaction, the dark dining room was freezing, sushi bar was closed, no Stone Crab claws as advertised. Sad to see it decline so!

It was the cleanest place we've ever been! 1 BR inlet-view, great for our family of four. Simple, not fancy nor luxurious but convenient and comfortable. Headed south a few miles/minutes for more action, but we like peace on the beach, in the pool and where we sleep. This totally fit the bill!
We're headed back for our third consecutive year, and we'll keep going back as long as it remains a family-friendly CLEAN accommodation! A great deal, too! This year we're taking friends!

After reading positive reviews on Trip Advisor and Expedia we booked a 2 bedroom suite at Prince Resort. Check in was easy and very fast. Parking garage for 2 buildings makes it hard to find a spot. Rooms look modern enough but worn down. Carpet is filthy and so were the walls in our room. Room does have a nice layout with 2 balconies though. I feel for it being one of the pricier hotels in North Myrtle it should be cleaner. No wow factor and we definitely feel as though we over payed for what we actually got.

I traveled w/ my wife and two young boys 1 and 4 yrs old. We drove down from NJ for a week stay in mid April where the temps average in the mid 70's which is perfect beach weather for us. We didn't get perfect weather but as close as you can ask for w/ only one day of rain and ave temps in low 70's. We stayed in tower 1 on the beach 5th floor in a 2 BR beachfront and loved the floor to ceiling windows and beautiful views up and down the beach from the balcony where I enjoyed coffee and the newspaper every morning. I would rate the beds as average and i'msure they vary from unit to unit since most are individually owned but I could have slept on a rock. Leaving the sliding glass door open all night to hear the sound of the waves crashing on the beach provided instant and deep sleep. We barely needed AC all week w/ the nice southeast breeze off the ocean it was perfect temps most of week day and night.

One trip to the grocery store on day one and possiblly one or two more if u forget stuff.
My advice is to take the 7 minute drive to Food Lion on 17 and not Bourbinoux food store just down the street where you are paying for convenience. I'm not saying there arent good places to eat in Myrtle Bch I'm just saying that if you don;t know exactly where to go you will hit a lot more bad ones than good ones so even taking advice on Tripadvisor we were unimpressed w/ a few. There's a place if you take Sea Mountain just over 17 right on the water where food was good and reasonable which we discovered our last night there. I'm sure there r a couple places we would have gone w/ out kids the Irish Restaurant being one of them. Barefoot Landing apps at Norman's Aussie grill really good as well. Restaurant inside hotel average at best would avoid but food down at outside bar was good...sliders were excellent for a mid day lunch/snack.

As far as the unit we had a 2 BR beachfront where one of BR has access to balcony as does the living room. Floor to ceiling windows very nice kids spent a lot of time when in unit just gazing out looking at pool area and beach, pier etc...very nice views. Nice size diningroom table, kitchen and laundry foyer area. Service is not something you can grade here since we picked up our keys in a lockbox down the street and rented unit for the week there is no daily cleaning etc which was fine but an adjustment if you are used to all inclusive, service hotels etc. Whoever is talking about internet access not available or a problem I have no idea what they are talking about. We had 2 laptops which had simple and uninterupted wireless access in every square foot of our unit.

This was not a golf vaca but i wanted to play at least one day so i called up this place right near Longbay club in North Myrtle forgetting name but it was $45 w/ a cart and i was only one on the course. 3 nines, immaculate condition not sure where everybody was but course was empty. Played 18 in 2hrs 45 min on the beach by 11am! Very relaxed attitude about alcohol on the beach as long as it's in cups nobody gave us a problem at any point. Beach is very flat and great for walks...Excellent seaside bar 15 down the beach going south called Hotos or something similar to that remember having a few $2 Red Stripes on one of my walks.

Pools were nice. Kiddie pool for little ones in both units we hardly went to 2nd twr spent most of time on beach and our pool. For a week vaca w/ the kids you can't beat the price even if you add in food/dinners etc. There is definitely a little more work involved with having to keep your own place clean, provide (linens optional), shopping, big time packing unpacking stuff etc but all worth it and nice change from the all-inlusives we have been doing previous easter breaks

The rooms were very clean and comfortable. We were on the backside of Tower 2 and still had great views out of both windows (we were on the corner of the building).
Parking was easy and convenient and the staff was accommodating and friendly.
My suggestion for the management would be to have more updated mattresses and pillows. Otherwise, we had a great time and would stay there again.
