“Great time!”
Reviewed July 17, 2017 for a stay in July 2017

We stayed in the upstairs apartment which had a small flight of steps to climb, but nothing back breaking. There's a small parking area right down the road we used to get to and from the beach everyday. Walking is available, it's just about a 5 minute walk to the beach. Overall it is a very nice set up, in a great area of North Myrtle. We had one problem with our door that Mrs. Bender and her husband responded to and solved very quickly. My family and I would stay here again.

This property was booked in the spring for our family beach vacation. The description (which differs greatly in the pictures on Tripadvisor vs Airbnb) indicated the exact needs we required for our grown children and their babies. The management company contacted us while in route from Florida to let us know that the unit was ready and we could check in early if needed. Upon entry we were shocked at the lack of upkeep and cleanliness. The floors were dirt and grime covered, the linen service that we paid extra for was not provided, the doorknob/lock on the door leading to the first floor porch was barely attached to the door. We called the management company regarding the linens and eventually a couple arrived with linens and towels and left them within the front entrance. We asked that the door knob and lock to the unit be repaired for our safety and you would have thought we were speaking a foreign language by the couples lack of concern. After fixing the door lock the couple sped away in their pickup. We then proceeded to dress the beds with the linens and much to our disgust found that they were stained and found to be questionably cleaned to the point that linens were now on our shopping list along with clorox products needed to make the unit habitable. The garbage can had pistachio shells floating around in slime, the few glasses that were in the kitchen were either chipped or broken, flatware was covered with rust, the cabinets has not been cleaned for what seemed forever for roach and or mouse droppings were evident. The pots and pans all had broken handles and the non stick coating was cracked and chipped to the point that they were unusable requiring yet another trip to the store to buy cookware. The table on the porch had to be cleaned prior to use and the backyard was nothing but weeds, a truck trailer and the smell of a dead animal which drew an extraordinary amount of flies to the area. The bathroom floor in the shared bathroom was filthy with mold growth and dirt in the corners, the master baths walls were stained and the baseboards throughout were filthy. The refrigerator was missing the door handle and there existed a really poor patch job on the drywall in the living room. The worst was that during our stay the bed in the center bedroom collapsed which fortunately did not cause injury. Inspection of the supporting structures revealed numerous erroneous repairs indicating that the structure was severely compromised and known by the management company. The final transgression was that the "security system" failed and locked us out on our final night, fortunately our youngest daughter did not go out with us that evening and was able to let us into the unit. We took numerous photos of these unacceptable details and contacted the management company yet again. Lisa Bender, our contact, told us that these issues should have been addressed upon arrival, hmmmm, really?, should we really have to inspect the furniture for stability, the cabinets for roach dirt, etc... We informed Ms. Bender that we were going to be writing ratings on both Airbnb and Tripadvisor detailing these issues so that other would be spared such a terrible experience. Interestingly, we received an email from her a couple of days after our stay with pictures showing the wall repair that had been done, the new cookware and kitchenware that was purchased and was told in the email that the bathroom had been painted. In my opinion this was done in attempt to sway us away from writing a review, sorry Ms. Bender, too little too late. Proper management of properties should require that the work being done by their employees be checked by the leasing contact to ensure proper cleanliness and safety for their guests. Only with this followup can blame be put upon those acting irresponsibly while also ensuring a comfortable and relaxing stay for the client. Obviously, both the management and their housekeepers are both to lame here.

Management Response
Jul 28, 2017
I would like to address the last point first. If a guest has pointed out some damage or other thing that needs to be fixed it is our standard policy to send them a picture of the fixed item so that they know we took their complaint seriously and that when they return as a guest we will do our best to make the home as comfortable as possible. We sent the picture as a courtesy especially since it was made clear to us that we were in for a bad review no matter what measures we took to correct real or imagined problems. The "security system" failure is that the Schlage lock did not function properly. This happens sometimes and is not a major problem. If he had called we have backup systems that would have allowed him to enter the home immediately. It is Airbnb's policy and FlipKey that people should call immediately if there is any trouble with the accommodations. We called this guest often to ask if he needed anything to which he replied no on many occasions. He would see our maintenance crews out and pull them off of their job look at something in the home, but gave the management no indication of all the problems listed above. In fact, this is not at all descriptive of the property. It is a well-maintained home and is one of our most popular rental homes.

Nine girls and I stayed the weekend for my Bachelorette Party and we had a blast. The place had plenty of room for all of girls. Was walking distance to the beach. Close to everywhere we wanted or needed to go too. Every person I communicated with to get this place was very nice and helpful. A lot of places I looked at would not allow groups of young adults such as (Bachelorette, Bachelor, Fraternity, Sorority, etc.) but this place did. I really appreciated them trusting us young adults ages from 23-27 to stay at their location. Next time I want to go to Myrtle I will look to stay here again.

We stayed here this past weekend, the location was great. Super close to the beach without being on the beach. Not too far from all the attractions. The only downside I had was I paid an extra almost 100 bucks to check in early (at 11 instead of 3), and we still weren't able to get in the condo till 2pm. Needless to say we sat in our cars. Other that this the experience was quite enjoyable.

“A great place for a group vacation just a couple of blocks from the beach”
Reviewed June 7, 2016 for a stay in May 2016

I would definitely recommend this property for any group trying to find an environment for a trip superior to any of the large hotels in North Myrtle. My friends and I had a great time and plenty of space and enjoyed the ability to unwind, have a great kitchen, and enjoyed the back deck greatly. Only a short walk to the beach, this is definitely worth a look for your trip to North Myrtle.

“This property was perfect for our group!”
Reviewed March 17, 2016 for a stay in March 2016

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay! The home was the perfect size for the 10 of us to enjoy a week at the beach! The walk to the beach was very short. The kitchen had all the necessary equipment for us to make "family" meals each night! The back porch was great for hanging out at night! I would definitely recommend renting this property or any of their other properties!
