“Wonderful!!”

We just got back from staying at Cresecent Shores for a week and it was a wonderful trip. Yes checking in at 3:00 stinks and yes waiitng on an elevator stinks....but you are there with thousands of other people so what do you EXPECT??? We stayed in Unit 403 in the North tower and it was beautifully decorated and we had a fantastic time. We had children ages 5 months to 4 years old and several adults and we have no complaints. Thanks!!

We have traveled to Myrtle Beach for 30 years, and our stay at Crescent Shores North, 1803, in North Myrtle Beach the last week of June, 2012 was the worst experience ever! As "Disappointed" stated in an earlier post, check- in is ridiculous. We went to the Condolux office to register, and it was 2:30p.m.....30 minutes until keys were released, so we had to return a second time to get them. During the registration, we were given three keys for the unit, and we requested four and were told there were only three. When we returned 30 minutes later, we talked to a different girl, requested a fourth key, and we got one!! ??? So the registration, key incident, and moving in with everyone else was annoying to begin.

Upon arriving in the condo, 1803, we found dirty dishes in the cupboards!!! Talk about disgusting!!! Dirty plates, glasses, silverware, and pots and pans! We immediately put it all in the dishwasher, and I was livid. The entire place did NOT have a clean appearance.....beds were poorly made, mildew in the bathrooms, bird poop by the elevators, the front door, and all over the balcony.....including the furniture!

In addition, we saw "bugs"in the kitchen. Well, the "bug" situation escalated the next two days. By Tuesday, the kitchen was infested with cockroaches! Of course there were cockroaches when dirty dishes are in the cupboards! This was a situation that had obviously been an ongoing problem, and I know why! I immediately called, and we were moved to a nicer beach home, but it was not oceanfront, and what a pain to pack everything and move six miles south!

We tried to get compensation for all of the above, but the fine print in the Condolux agreement states that if there is a problem, and the occupants are upgraded to another location, no compensation will be given. Multiple phone calls were made by my husband in an attempt to talk to Stuart.....a manager??? We're not sure. We were always told he was out of the office, and he never bothered to return the calls. Not impressed, Stuart!

We will NOT return to Crescent Shores North, and we will NOT do business with Condolux again.

We decided to try a condo on the beach this year. The past 6 years, we have stayed at Pirateland Campground and loved it. But we wanted to change up this year and do something different. So we found Crescent Shores and booked a condo. We experienced good and bad.

1. BAD -- We first got there and a member of the cleaning crew was in our condo eating her lunch with her child running around inside. Apparently she thought the condo was not a "back to back" and was not needing to clean it. My thought is she was "moving in" for the week. Who knows. Needless to say, I was not happy. Finally got that ironed out after waiting 30 minutes for them to clean the condo.

2. BAD -- No one can check into the complex until 3:00 p.m. Everyone is showing up at the same time, so trying to get a luggage cart was impossible. There must be only a few because several people were waiting for one to become available. Of course, you have people hanging on to 2 of them, which, to me, is rude. It's the same thing when checking out.

3. There are only 4 elevators available for this 18-floor building and they are always busy so it's hard to get one right away. Fortunately, we were on the 5th floor so I took the stairs more often than not.

4. Parking is a joke if you have a luggage carrier on the top of your vehicle. The parking deck across the street has the first level for handicapped and luggage top carrier vehicles. We had a carrier on the top of our vehicle and every time we went in to park, there were cars parked that were clearly not either of the acceptable and we had to park on the street somewhere, if we were lucky. Security apparently went around and marked cars that were illegally parked, but did not reinforce it, apparently. The same cars were parked in the same spots the next day.

5. When you go down on the beach for the day and look forward to having a great view, forget it. There are canopies and umbrellas on top of each other, at least 2 to 3 rows deep and you feel like you are at some big group party. I couldn't even see my children in the water. According to South Carolina law, an individual is not allowed to set up canopies and such on the beach until after 8:00 a.m. I was out on the beach at 6:30 a.m. and people were setting up before 7:00 a.m. I counted 11 canopies one morning at 7:15 a.m. They also are supposed to be 10 feet apart from each other. I don't know if it's like that every week, but it was for us and we ended up walking beyond the complex and got a better spot after the first day for the rest of our stay.

6. GOOD - We stayed in unit S509. The condo itself was very nice and once the cleaning crew cleaned it, it was fine. Plenty of bath towels. Good quantity of kitchen dishes, etc. The only thing was the faucet on the kitchen sink was not quite right. When turning off the water, it had to be turned on and off again to get it just right for it not to drip.

Needless to say, we will never stay there again. I think if we stay in a smaller complex with fewer floors, etc., some of the hassles would be non-existent. I love North Myrtle Beach and have vacationed in the area pretty much my whole life and we will probably continue to do so in the future. Just not at Crescent Shores.

We stayed for one week. Really liked the accessibility to activities, grocery shopping, etc. The beach was lovely - narrow in the morning, but wide in the afternoon. The condo complex was dirty with litter strewn by the steps to the beach that was not picked up the entire week. Our condo (no pets) smelled of cat urine. Carpet cleaning masked it for 2 days. The sofas were filthy and a dining room chair was broken and not replaced. There was no storage for beach items. The employees at the condo were more concerned about parking than they were about litter being removed and maintaining the trash chute. Our unit was non smoking, but the pool and hot tub were full of smokers.

We went to Crescent Shores the 1st of June. We looked at the pics on line of condo 1301. It looked great on pics. Trust me pics are deceiving. When we first got there the floors were filthy, walls look like they had never been painted, hair all over the beds (gross!!), dust covered everything, cabinets broke, no fridge handle, black mold all over shower doors.....etc. We contacted Eliott Realty where we rented from and it took all week to just get someone out to fix the cabinets. They basically refunded us a cleaning fee back and that was it. These places cost to much money to be in this type of condition. We had stayed at Crescent Shores in 2005 and 2006 and had a great experience. After this trip and using Eliott Realty I can honestly say we will never use them again or be back to this location.

Room Tip: Make sure you call ahead and check on room. Do not go by the pictures!!

We just returned from a week in condo 312 S at Crescent Shores. There were ten of us ranging from toddlers through teenagers to grandparents. Condo is very spacious and well equipped. The kitchen was more equipped than any we,ve ever seen. The location is right on the ocean with amazing views. Elevators are easy and fast. Parking right by the doors and always able to snag a cart for moving stuff in and out. Wish the resort had a cafe or snack bar but otherwise the pools lazy rover hot tub etc were perfect. love the beach with great access. Would definitely return. Now for the condo itself. we had 4 bedrooms, 3 baths and as I said it was nicely equipped and decorated. however, the carpeting, especially in living room and master need to be shampooed. The master bath shower doors could use a good scrub around the frames and the worst thing: the balcony floor outside the master bedroom is in dire need of washing. It is very dirty, if there was a hose we would have used it! The deck furniture out there is lovely; too bad it sits on such a mess.
We rent from Condo World and would go back there again if they assured me they had cleaned the place up.
