Annual Trip

5.0 of 5 bubblesReviewed Sep 22, 2019
I love staying at Peppertree By the Sea. Amenities are great. The staff is friendly. I love going there every year. I am a timeshare owner and look forward to going every year. Parking across the street is accessible if you come in late at night.

My main issue with this resort is the old A/C units. They do not take the humidity out of the air & I would like for the fan to turn off when the compressor turns off. Another thing I don't like is when the Wyndham built next door, the building sits further out than the Peppertree & by around 2PM, our pool area is in the shade.

During our stay, we enjoyed the proximity to the beach, local attractions, the pool and easy parking. I cannot stress enough that the staff was all friendly and helpful.

There are approximately 1000 rules given to you about your stay including how many towels you may have, when you can get a linen refresh, how you check out (yes, they want house keeping to audit your room before you leave), a 75 dollar fee for losing your key after 11pm, towels are counted when you take your towels to the linen exchange, and towels are 15 dollars a piece if you lose them. I forgot that they even have a dark brown towel for makeup wiping!? Because the precious white towels may.....gasp.... get dirty!
Our room was dingy, we were given a room without a view of the ocean. There was no room to store anything. For 2 women traveling, there was no space to put makeup. The room had a full stove and larger refrigerator. Honestly I would have given up the stove and fridge for a counter. The bathroom had mildew in the grout. I u understand that they are renovating, but the room looked like it hadn't been redone since 1980. The linens on the bed were very clean.

The staff was all friendly. Everyone we met chatted with us and even the construction workers painting the stairwell were not creepy.

I felt safe in the room, as a woman it's tough how large complexes can make you feel like people are around every corner, but this place was lit and there were always staff around.

Overall I would have rated the place higher, but the rules were so ridiculous and confusing in my opinion! I dont want your dang towels.

It was the most cramped one-bedroom unit I have ever occupied. The Wi-Fi failed more than once. Management made up for the deficiencies in other ways. There was someone at reception fairly late, making it convenient to leave them my key and go swimming ( not convenient or possible at many other places). Peppertree is small, with small rooms. It was a short, convenient walk between my room, the elevator, the parking lot, reception, and the beach. That made it easier to enjoy the beach in various ways. If I wanted something at the beach, and I left it in my car, or in my room, it wasn't far to walk.

There was an issue with flooding from the 4th floor and water was coming through our ceiling. This is something that couldn't be helped. The staff went over and above to make things right for us (Thanks Kimber). We have stayed here many times and we have always been very pleased. And we are booked for another stay in a few months.

Great experience for my first time there. Clean. Hotel room was great. Lots of debris floating in pool, seen them clean pool daily, but skimming it a few times a day would be better. I know there's a lot of traffic in and out of the pool. Hot tub and indoor pool was great. Too hot in there!!! Definitely a great place. Crafts and stuff for kids daily, that was nice Tiki bar too. Wished they had more on site things for adults to do. Maybe adult swim, Karaoke, mixed drinks at the tiki bar? Love it. Will be back!

Room tip: Water pressure needs to be stronger and had no hot water in bathroom sink. Had to run hot water from tub just to wash my face.
