go during the evenings to see plenty of fishing action. mostly small sharks at night, though occasional flounder or stingray. greedy crabs may also grab your line.

This used to be great fun! We used to walk up to the pier and walk out to the end at night to feel the waves rock the pier gently. Now, they've started charging to walk out and it just ruined it. No piers left (that I know of) that are free to use anymore. :(

Great place to fish with the size of of the pier extending into the mystic ocean. Many big fish have been caught off of this infamous pier. Also a great place to surf, the pier creates a sandbar (build up of sand) which makes for a better wave to surf, opposed a place without a sandbar. Remember to stay required distance from the pier when surfing or there may be problems! KOKOPELLI SURF CAMP will be teaching SURFING LESSONS & PADDLE-BOARDING, along with board rentals and repairs, May-September. This place has it all from catching waves to catching fish! Want to fish for a day. At Cherry grove pier there are poles, bait and no need for license ...it is in the cost to fish on the pier. Very reasonable cost, to fish. Not fishing, I think it is a dollar for a walk. Nice bar, Ice cream shop and food.

It was a nice pier. There was some fishing going on. It was a great location with great views. Someone bought the parking lot next to the Prince hotel and now charges to park right there. You can park for free a half a block away.
