“Wonderful Condo with the BEST pool area”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed October 8, 2010

Just reviewed from a great stay at North Beach Plantation. We had picked North Beach because of their 4 bedroom condos, it was a new place (so therefore would be in good shape) but especially for their large pool area. And on all accounts, NBP delivered a great trip for our extended family. Each family had their own bedroom and bathroom; however we did not have the bed configuration I had requested when booking the trip. I had asked that at least 2 bedrooms have 2 queen beds, however upon check in only 1 did. They did try to correct but it would have required us to change rooms mid-stay which no one wanted to do so we made do with beds; otherwise our 4 bedroom penthouse was wonderful. It was beautifully furnished and decorated, and we had lots of room in living / dining area for all and a very lengthly balcony with a great view. We've stayed at other newer condo hotels but this has been the best so far. And I can't say enough about how much we all enjoyed the great pool area...lot's of different size / depths for all our various age groups. We had fresh towels delivered each morning and trash pickup each day. Every employee we encountered was very friendly and helpful except for golf dept who never returned 2 messages left prior to trip and 1 left on check in day. We didn't use the cafe but really enjoyed the swim up pool bar. We'll be back next year...right now can't think of a better place to stay in NMB. On premise spa was a nice treat.

We booked a two night stay at NBP after a vacation in Charleston...got a great rate on a one bedroom unit through TravelZoo. On arrival we were assigned unit 511, in the Jasmine tower, which is adjacent to the elevator on the 5th floor. The unit was nice but the bedroom is off the corridor....it was noisy when guests were coming off the elevator and down the hall. Additionally, there's a window in the bedroom that faces the hallway....the shade in the window didn't do a great job of blocking out the light from the hall that was on all night. We couldn't figure out why the unit was designed that way and wondered if all the others on that floor had the same floor plan. We made the best of it since we were only there a couple of nights, but for a long stay it would be a problem.
We had to call maintenance for a problem with one of the doors and they were prompt....but some of the workmanship we noticed left a lot to be desired. It was a bit chilly for the beach while we were there but it is located on a beautiful beach. There are a lot of restaurants and shopping areas located near the resort. We didn't care for Myrtle Beach in general....to commercialized for us. I would recommend NBP for a stay but only if the unit had a bedroom that didn't face the corridor.

What a beautiful spot!! First time to N Myrtle Beach - went for a long weekend with friends. We stayed on the 19th Fl in Indigo Towers - fabulous 2 bedroom condo with stunning view of the ocean. Very nicely decorated. Great balcony with a table and chairs for 4 and a chaise lounge to sit, chat, listen to ocean. The night manager Henry is wonderful!! Checked us in as we were late arrivals and made great recommendations for dinner. A true people person!
The beach here is so great- you can walk forever it seems- nice clean sand, not too soft so easy walking. Pools and hot tubs galore! We didn't want to leave. Close by to North Beach Plantation is lots of shopping and places to eat and this place is a short drive to the airport. Book your trip here now!

Booked online for a 1 bedroom, and at check in, we were upgraded to a two-bedroom for free. The manager on duty gave us a courtesy call. The condos are beautiful, appear just as pictured on the webpage. The French Door carded entries are a nice touch, as well as the facility's security policies. Some areas of this property are still under construction, townhomes and villas are being built as of Oct 4th, and an onsite steakhouse is being added to the 'check in' area for this winter. We were worried that we'd get hit with sales pitches but were never even approached. The pools are plentiful, hottubs were quite welcome in this colder part of the season. The 'no motorcycle' policy might be off-putting to some people, but it sure kept our little part of North Myrtle quiet during the bike rallys, which happened to coincide with our dates. I'm wondering if there is off-site parking for those with motorbikes.
Maintenance staff is available and very prompt. The air conditioning condensation pan began to overflow in our unit (not a big deal, but a little messy). When we mentioned it to our excellent housekeeping personnel, he immediately used a push- to- talk headset to contact someone and they were at our door within 5 minutes.
Located directly across from Barefoot Landing, House of Blues, Dick's Last Resort, and the Alabama Theatre, there's plenty to do within walking distance. Plus, with a McDonalds/ gas station at the same traffic light, the kids will be happy! The pools range from 6 inches of splashable wading pools with a couple of fountain sprayers to a graduated 5 foot lap pool, and the Tiki Bar has a swim-up area for adults only, with water tables to sip and dip at! The bar was closed all day on Sunday, I think in respect of SC's Blue laws, or perhaps out of resident consensus. We do not golf, and so cannot comment on the courses here.
We missed Breakfast on the 3rd floor until the last day, when we decided to try it out. They sell muffins, bagels, danishes and fresh fruit ala carte, and they also list omelettes, breakfast sandwiches, french toast, and pancakes!! The prices weren't bad; they were comparable to the local flapjack houses. They also do lunch there, with crab cakes and seasoned sweat potato pies listed as some of the unique items of fare.
We were very pleased with our entire stay, and as we were celebrating a ten year anniversary with this trip (no kids with us this time!) the beauty of the facilities was inspiring. From the fragrant aromatherapy fountain to the sand-spots by the hottubs where the kids can play while you relax, North Beach Plantation is the way to go when staying at North Myrtle. Trust me, we'll be back next year.

We are here now, checked in Saturday, we had requested a mid- level floor and was placed on the 19th floor. After waiting for a manager (who was in a meeting) for 30 minutes, our room was relocated onto the 5th floor. The room is awesome!! I cannot say enough about the room. The pool area has a swim up bar, but it has been closed since we arrived, not sure why. We are disappointed with that. Also, one of the hot tubs has been closed the last 2 days and one pool today. There are plenty of others, so not really a problem, just an annoyance. I do think it is weird the lobby is so far away and not in the building. Make sure you stop at the check-in/lobby, which is beautiful, but not well marked. It has been a great trip so far!

Finally a place to stay in Myrtle Beach that is in an excellent location and clean and up to date. Our two bedroom condo was beautifully decorated with a very large balcony that overlooked the ocean. We had lots of towels every day delivered by a very friendly housekeeper, Brenda. She made us feel welcome. The pools and jacuzzis were plentiful and not crowded. This is off season, so the rate was very good. It appeared that many units were not sold yet, so it may become a lot more crowded when it is at full capacity. We seemed to be the only occupants of the 11th floor, so it was very quiet. The hallways are beautiful with gorgeous carpet and wainscoating on the walls and lined with windows that look inland. We didn't eat at the restaurant since there are many good restaurants very nearby.
I hope to return soon.

I could not have been more pleased with my Labor day weekend stay. The resort is absolutely fantastic! The staff went above and beyond to ensure my family and I were happy. They call you upon entering your room to make sure you're happy with your accommodations. Our room was top notch; beautifully decorated, huge ocean front balcony, pristine, amazing beds, fully stocked- and high end furniture at that. The pool area and beach front were beautiful. I love the pool side bar and lounge area. There was plenty of staff to make sure everyone was taken care of too- didn't expect that for Labor Day weekend. The resort is located in the middle of lots of shops, restaurants, and entertainment. I also visited the resort's Cinzia Spa, and had a wonderful facial. Cinzia Spa spared no expense when building this facility. The spa is absolutely stunning with hot tubs, lounges, Turkish sauna, and a great staff who provide wine:) I will definitely stay here again!!!!
