Had the she crab soup which is some of the best I have ever had. They bring you delicious, crusty rolls and butter. We had the tenderloin which was a filet with scallops and crab meat with bernaise sauce (steak Oscar) and the fried seafood platter with shrimp, scallops and flounder. They came with salad, choice of potato and green beans. Everything was great. We could not eat it all —the servings were very generous. The price was very reasonable for what we ordered. The atmosphere inside is very cozy. This has become one of our favorite restaurants.

Easy to miss, building is nondescript. Advertised as a 30 year old restaurant & inside may be a turn-off for some as it's dark & seems somewhat out-dated. Ignore your 1st impression & enjoy the fantastic food.

Based on some of personal recommendations we'd gotten, expected to have a wait. Instead, found 5 couples enjoying their meals with some unobtrusive background music. Female wait staff is attentive & prompt.

Ordered a Margarita & a white zin. both were generous pours & prices were less than expected. We ordered the Manhattan chowder to start, had lots of seafood, provided a hint of things to come.

Salad was good. Wife ordered the fried seafood platter, which she rated an 8.5. I had the Jambalaya, blackened shrimp & scallops on a bed of tomatoes, peppers, onions & sausage. Generous portions, although the sausage was sparse in the Jambalaya. Still, overall, no complaints with the food, portions or prices.

What a wonderful dining experience in a very unexpected place! Linen napkins and ambiance. It wasn't crowded and the food was wonderful...everyone in the party loved their choices. It's worth the trip to Sea Merchants...the outside of the building might make you think otherwise. But it's truly better than the buffet places along the highway!

This is without a doubt the best Resturant in Myrtle Beach. They consistently serve excellent meals be it Ribeye steak, Prime Rib, or seafood. Tonight we had the Ribeyes and they were delicious. Served with a salad, flaky dinner rolls, red potatoes and green beans all for $24. The staff is always attentive and so very professional. A favorite of locals, it is the hidden gem of NMB. They’ve updated the exterior but the excellent service and dishes remain just as they have always been. Go to Sea Merchants for a wonderful meal you will not soon forget!!

This is a hidden gem! Don't be put off by the massage parlor and title reseller in the area. Once you're inside, it's all warm wood, cozy lights -- and very reasonably priced seafood and steaks. The she crab soup is an excellent starter. Dinners come w a crisp salad w garlicky homemade croutons and what tasted like homemade dressing. The best of our table was the shrimp and scallop scampi, swimming in garlic butter and topped w breadcrumbs that were toasted to a golden crunch. The flounder casino was good, but the bacon-based topping, while delicious, was a bit overpowering, as the fish was tender and flavorful on its own. It was frustrating to see CHICKEN Oscar (a crab and scallop topping w Bernaise sauce), yet that was (weirdly) not an option for the flounder. The least successful entre was the seafood pasta. The creamy sauce was OK, but nothing special. (Didn't come close to the parmesan and cream-laden sauce at our fave place on the beach in Seaside, Oregon.) But the helping of shrimp and scallops was generous. Dinners also came w green beans that were sauteed and still a bit crisp, as well as rice, red potatoes or homemade fries coated in a light batter. A great bonus is the homemade yeast rolls. Crispy golden on the outside and tender and flaky on the inside. (I had one dipped in my scampi butter for dessert!) Oh, and the prices were just $19 an entre! All in all, a great find!
