As the Brits say, this is proper fish and chips. Amazingly, the menu includes mushy peas! Huge portions served out of this tiny space in a questionable neighborhood. There are a few seats inside plus two picnic tables outside and they do take-away. There's usually a line out the door but it's worth the wait. Ask about the pies - savory meat pies, not the dessert kind.

This blows away Bonefish for fish and chips. Fish was great and not greasy. Wonderful light coating. Very reasonable. We will go back. Neighborhood a little sketchy, place looked rustic. Felt right at home. Not much seating however.

Best fish and chips I have had in years - but then it is run by a hardworking Englishman, with English equipment and good friendly staff. And they have English tea! This is definitely off the tourist routes but well worth the drive out to North Charleston. It was recommended to us by a local. We had the cod, a large piece and not at all greasy or fishy tasting. Most customers do take-away, there are only a few seats inside and out. Fun English decor! Clearly very popular with the locals, and lots of regular customers.

Perfectly battered and fried, an enormous cod fillet sits atop a boat of house-cut fries for the quintessential Northern England treat! There's a reason for the waiting line, it's the amazing food (careful, it was in the fryer seconds ago!!), large portions, and a reasonable price. Clientele is mixed, first responders get a discount, and then there's the occasional movie star sauntering in to see what it's all about - you should too! Ask about meat pies, not listed on the menu, created in conjunction with a local bakery.

The menu is limited, they do what they do best. Cod fillet the size of your head, chips that were potatoes last night, house made tartar sauce, curry sauce, gravy, mushy green peas, and fish sandwich are on the menu for a reasonable price. As an added bonus, if you have leftovers, they reheat perfectly in the oven!

Just South of Park Circle, tucked away on Reynold's Avenue off of Spruill by the old base.

Had to re-review to acknowledge the delicious meat pies they also serve here - very tasty and couldn't stop once I had started, small but packs a terrific taste ! Kudos to the owner for having these as well as the fish that brings them from all over - can't wait for the next taste!
