“Excellent customer service and a nice hotel”
Reviewed July 20, 2014

We got the last room available, so the hotel was packed. Everything we'd nice and worked. Staff was very friendly and always accommodating. Good breakfast. However "Ma Ma" was beyond excellent. She was a true Southern Hostess. She treated everyone as if they were close personal friends. She made every morning start off with a smile. Thanks "Ma Ma"

My family and I stayed here after a day trip to Charleston, and were exceptionally pleased! From the great service at check in to the clean, large suite and the nice shower and comfy beds, everything was perfect. All hotels should strive to provide their guests with this type of comfort and service to its patrons! The free breakfast was also outstanding! Would love to stay here again!

We met family for a couple of days in Charleston and have stayed in Marriott properties on the Ashley River several times. It is always a pleasure, quiet but not far from the center of the historiic district. We were there in May before it got so hot and full of tourists. We were able to drive and park everywhere we went. The hotel is what we expected, clean, well lighted with nice views, a good breakfast. We got two rooms and everyone loved it. It was expensive but about half of what it would have cost to stay in an historic inn right in the historic district.

Room Tip: Get a room facing the river.

I am an Elite member and usually find the staff at Marriotts very accommodating but the staff here is definitely customer focused, The rooms are comfortable even though the lay out is a little off. Good for short stays.
They have a shuttle which takes you into Charleston which affords a restful evening without driving.

Room Tip: Select a 4th floor room overlooking the water (odd no). Lower floors see trees.

I stayed at the Springhill while on our family vacation in June. The hotel is very good for the price. It is clean and well maintained and the people working there are very friendly and helpful. Mama and Kala went out of their way to help the guest and are truly wonderful and caring people. I would highly recommend this hotel and its staff to anyone needing a good place to stay for a reasonable rate.

We stayed there over the 4th of July weekend. The price was a bit high on the holiday but the other nights were reasonable. The room was a bit smaller than we had thought it would be, but it was clean and the bed was very comfortable. The staff was very friendly. The front desk staff always had a smile and a hello and Mama was always entertaining the guests. She was quite informative about what was going on in Charleston and great with giving directions. When she didn't know where something was that we asked about, she had the front desk staff look it up on the internet and print it off for us. The breakfast was good, but the hotel was full every night we were there so breakfast was very crowded and not a not of space to eat. We tried three different times and it was always crowded, but we managed. We would definitely stay there again.

Room Tip: Our room was on the end of the second floor and we could not hear any of the other guests.

Springhill Suites is nicely located for the main attraction for us, which was the Magnolia Plantation. The hotel was clean, had a nice room and comfortable bed. Little in the way of extraneous noise, and breakfast was predictable, but ok. There just isn't a lot of variety in the breakfasts in most hotels these days, even when you pay the big bucks it seems.

Room Tip: We always avoid the ice machine and the elevator. Otherwise, not much difference.
