I can agree with the previous review by far, my room, also non-smoking smelled like smoke and the comforter had a cigarette burn in it. The room was good enough for me since I don't go on vacation for the hotel room and was barely there anyway. Just if you do choose to go here make sure you bring soap because they didn't provide any until day 3 and I didn't ask since I was getting tired of asking for things, such as towels, yes I had to ask for these and toilet paper. I'm talking basic necessities here, nothing more. It was great when it rained because the entire floor outside of the bathroom was soaked from the hole in the roof, thank goodness for flip flops you can step right into after a shower since the towels on the floor soaked up the brown water. The front desk is absolutely useless so I just never asked them for anything except for the phone book since they can't even put a phone book in the room, really? Anyway, it was definitely cheap and everything is about 15-20 minutes from you including Isle of Palms, Charleston, and Folly beach, so if you can deal with the crap shoot of a room, then go for it. Oh and the morning breakfast is a doughnut, cold nasty coffee, juice, or cereal, I ended up going to McDonald's and Starbucks for coffee and I'm not that picky, I drink Folgers and didn't expect gourmet, but when it's cold and tastes like crap, you have to draw the line somewhere.
