A good venue for Reunions and Group Meetings. Close to Airport. Friendly Staff. Nice amenities. A varied menu and an overall pleasant experience. Give it a try for sure when in the Charleston Area. A good value too.

Very nice hotel with clean rooms and in a great location. Loved the open Atrium with a great little bar and seating for casual relaxation. Plenty of space for enjoying a very yummy (and free) breakfast. Not just continental fare. Great hot buffet and cook to order bar, as well as pastries and cereal for the kids. If you go hungry at breakfast time, its your own fault. Indoor pool was a hit with the kids too. Would definitely visit this Embassy Suites again!!

Room Tip: If you are attending an event at the Convention Center, a 2nd floor room is the best since the Catwa...

Love this hotel. It's in a great location, near Tanger Outlet Mall & tons of other stores and restaurants. The staff offers great customer service. My only complaint are the manager's reception snacks: chips & salsa, hummus, or cheese and crackers. We caught one guest picking through the crackers with his hands. He was tossing the ones he didn't want back in the bowl. It was gross! They need more of a food selection and an attendant to prevent guests from using their hands. Other than that, it was perfect. Breakfast is awesome, as always.

Great room....clean and spacious. Very good breakfast each morning. Front desk staff very friendly and helpful with directions. My only problem was parking. There was a concert one evening at the adjacent conference hall and numerous concert patrons illegally parked in the hotel lot. I finally found a parking space after 10 minutes because someone left the lot.

Because of its convenient location (near family, the interstate, and a short drive to the historic district,) we've probably stayed at this hotel more than any other when visiting Charleston. This past March, my husband and I visited again, and while it's still got more going for it than many of the hotels in North Charleston, it's time Old Reliable got a decor upgrade.

The atrium lobby is a big draw for us, and the public spaces are well-kept. But they're beginning to look dated--there's lots of foot traffic from large meetings and conventions and tourists--and in need of a floor-to-ceiling redo. Thankfully, the indoor pool, hot tub and workout center is in great shape. The best option in the complimentary buffet breakfast is the made-to-order omelette line. If the right folks are flipping eggs, the line moves swiftly and they don't blink when you have a complicated order. The evening happy hour is still great--the bartender is a friendly guy who's waited on us many times through the years. These are the elements that make Embassy Suites our first choice when traveling. The suites are the areas in greatest need of updating. The carpets, furniture and walls need brighter, lighter colors and fresher fabrics; however, the comforter and bedsheets are clean and seem to be fairly new. The beds are comfy; the pillows need updating. Luckily, we had no housekeeping issues and our room was kept spotlessly clean and fresh.

We've brought the family here many times, and have many happy memories at this hotel. We're quite fond of it, which is why we'd like to see it get a sprucing-up. It'll always be our first choice for Charleston.

This hotel is at the convention center and hence, alot of convention guests. All rooms are two room suites with the "living room" with pull-out sleeper sofa, small dining table, TV, mini-fridge, microwave, coffee maker (single serve style) in the front of the suite facing a huge atrium. The bedroom is on the outside of the building with a window facing the parking lot. Beds were very nice, in my opinion, and the place was well-kept - furniture looks new, carpet clean, no stains on sofa, bathroom was spotless - no mold in the corners. Styling of the room isn't as "modern" as alot of places right now - but the place still looked in tip-top shape. If you intend to use the sleeper sofa - it better be by someone who can sleep through anything - that room is NOISY with all the noise from the atrium and we were on the 8th floor. Luckily - a nice solid door to the bedroom shuts the noise out there. Has one of those annoying HVAC that is either on or off, no auto function and no exact temperature setting - but it did run relatively quietly.

Breakfast is included and the buffet was identical each day - but good choices with bacon, sausage, french toast, scrambled eggs, yogurt, fruit, cereals, bread choices. The nice thing they have is an omelet station. Their omelet makers are efficient - they have a system and can move through getting omelets done. Some days there was a line - but considering what they were doing, it moved along. One busy morning when all the convention goers were there at once - you may have to venture to the restaurant area or lounge area for seating. The staff walking around to clean tables and wipe them down for the next guest were pleasant and efficient.

Has a small exercise room and indoor pool - typical basic hotel - nothing special - but adequate. Location wise - it's close to the outlet mall, airport, and access to the main roads to get around town was easy. I'd actually recommend it as a base of location for seeing the greater Charleston area versus staying downtown because you you can get around easily from here - the area is not that big. But - yes - that assumes you have a car! You can walk to the strip mall across the street with some restaurants if you are without a car. The outlet mall is a bit further - maybe a bit less than a mile between the hotel front door and a store entrance at the mall?

While they have a concierge stand - I never saw anyone at it and the gift shop clerk was always on her phone - so don't look for suggestions from them as for what to see and do. The front desk staff, if free, know the basics. There is a visitor's center close by and the lady that helped me there was very nice. But - in general - the hotel staff was nice. One day our room seemed to have "barely" been refreshed (was there five nights) - only got a couple clean towels and beds poorly made - but the other days it seems like the complete job had been done.

They had free drinks and light snacks each day - which I thought was nice - chips and salsa or hummus, cheese and crackers. As long as you understand what this is - a SNACK not a meal - it's a pretty awesome perk.

Anyway - as long as you don't need someone to sleep on the sofa bed in the noisy room right off the atrium - I'd highly recommend the place.

Room Tip: If you are going to turn off the HVAC - ask to be AWAY from the elevators - otherwise you can hear t...
