“Updated with great staff”
Reviewed July 8, 2013

Stayed from June 30-July 5. Updated rooms, great staff. Rachel at the front desk was wonderful, as were George and Linda in the dining area. Miss Linda cooked veggie burgers for us in the kitchen one night when we had trouble with the outdoor grill. Above and beyond for sure! There were different choices for breakfast everyday and the staff cleared tables quickly, as some mornings were very crowded. The complimentary dinners were good, not spectacular, but certainly you could make a meal of what was served. There was more trouble with keeping dinner entree items stocked, but then again there were many people who would walk through and just take every last piece of whatever was there, instead of getting back in line for more. So I can't really fault the staff for guest's bad manners! We would stay here again, quiet and enjoyable.

Room Tip: Pet friendly, seemed to be mostly 1st and 2nd floor, so ask for higher if you don't want to hear...

This was an average hotel stay. Front desk was friendly, but needed a few personal items at check in and the "store" did not offer much and we could not get what we needed. Room was a far walk from the elevator. Beds okay. Cleanliness was as expected. Pool looked very dirty, did not let the kids swim in there. Breakfast was okay. No spray for the waffles. They tended to stick each time. They need more than one waffle maker as line to make waffles was long. The area was less than desired. Would stay for one night, not longer.

Room Tip: Ask to be near stairs or an elevator.

Consider staying elsewhere.
We checked in here 2 days ago and have had nothing but issues. First, the a/c in the hallway isn't working on our floor. It wasn't working when we checked in (no mention of this at check in by the way) and two days later its still out. It's 85 degrees and humid out and the hallway is stifling. We were told it was being fixed and would be fixed "soon."
Second, the TV continually fails, (is pixillated) as does the WiFi. The management says they can't explain it, it's what happens with satellite when it's windy. It's not windy. And if that were the case satellite TV wouldn't exist. We are now unable to successfully watch anything on the TV.
The a/c in our room is pitiful. It took over an hour yesterday to get the room to cool down 4 degrees. And the a/c feels humid. The maintenance guy was in our room and says it's fine. It's not.
And the privacy dead bolt on our door is broken. Maintenance has looked at it and doesn't have the tools to fix it. What?
On the up side, the room is clean. But the bed is so soft that when you turn during the night you roll toward the center. We feel like we're in an I Love Lucy episode. But the sheets are clean. And the complimentary breakfast isn't bad. And there is a Starbucks across the street.
Why didn't we check out? Well, we're staying here on promotional points so the price is right. And its a lot less expensive to stay here then in Downtown Charleston. A lot. And we leave to go home in the morning.

I was skeptical After reading the reviews I was really skeptical however after staying there I was pleasantly pleased. It looks like they've had a recent remodel and everything was in great condition. The complementary breakfast in the morning is great, the staff is right there with anything that you need. Normally I stay at a Hilton property however I would consider this property again.

Room Tip: We had a suite with 2 rooms, worked out great as our father in law was with us.

The toilet made a lot of noise and the seat was loose, You can hear your neighbors television.

The worst part was the king bed. It needs a new mattress and the pillows are old.

The most irritating was when we didn't have hot water for a few hours on our first day.

We arrived very late 1:00am and the fact that this residence inn was so close to the airport was really a lifesaver with 2 sleepy kids from a long day of flying. The check-in process was very smooth and very accommodating. This Residence inn is very large, I believe 4 floors with many options from 2 bedroom to studios. The manager of this hotel seems to have everything running in good order, our few requests were promptly accommodated and felt very welcome at this hotel. The breakfast seemed to be lacking on the hot plates, however my kids do just fine as long as milk and cereal can be found :) . I would have liked to see more HOT items out as they seemed to have had a place but not stocked. We had the 2bedroom suite which was very nice to have the kids in their own room and wife and I in the other. The 2 bedroom has 3 TV's and a great kitchen/living room area. This will be our go to option when flying into Charleston.

Very disappointing stay this past weekend. We stayed here to attend gymnastics meet at Convention Center. Location is good as it is a short walk to Convention Center. Cleanliness and service at hotel were not good. The pool was extremely dirty. Our room did not get cleaned one day. I asked for towels and the bed to be made. Brought towels but did not make bed. Had no shampoo. Ran out of toilet paper. Extra roll under sink was wet due to leaking sink. Noise from neighbors was loud.
