We stayed September 1st for 4 nights. It was our 1st anniversary and we have been looking foward to this trip FOREVER!
Check in- we waited for probably 20 mins to check in. Beautiful lobby- but long wait.
Our Room- GREAT!!! We were on the 4th floor in the Palmetto Building. We had a great view of the Ocean and Pier. We liked how our bulding was a little more private- In fact Springmaid is not in the "scrum" of all the other Resorts. It's nice and private! The shower was GREAT, the bed was comfortable, Fridge was large and had an ice maker!! We LOVED our balcony, it was great to watch the ocean and people fishing. The room was very large with lots of space for the two of us!
The Pools- They were very nice. Lots of seating areas to lounge out. We really enjoyed the lazy rivers! My only issue here was there are NEVER any pool towels!
We ADORED the pier. We spent a lot of time people watching on the pier. All the fishermen are super friendly and willing to talk about the fish they catch. We saw a shark get caught, that was neat- of course they put him back. *funny story, we asked a fisherman if a Ribbon fish was good to eat and he said "oh yea, Sushi"... then he actually fileted the fish, pulled out chopsticks and ate it.*
BARnacles is a great place for lunch. We had the Club and the Carolina burger- reasonably priced and very good!! All the staff is very friendly and happy to help!
The gift shop is clean and well stocked! The staff there is super nice and happy to help in anyway!
Over all we had a WONDERFUL experience.
*Tip for local area, Dial 0 from your room to have them call you a cab. They use Rockstar (great guys) have them take you to the BOARDWALK ($13 flat rate) then enjoy the boardwalk and take a FREE shuttle (stop by Ripleys and the zipline) to BROADWAY. Broadway has all the real night life- then you can take the shuttle back and another $13 cab will get you home. If you take a cab to Broadway from SMBR its $21- each way.
Staying here was great place to stay for a family vacation. Also there was a great view of the ocean from our room. There was a great amount of pools and lazy rivers which is great. Lastly the weather out there was perfect at that time
We had a wonderful stay at Springmaid Beach resort in June 2013. Room was clean. Beach access was excellent. Resort grounds were well manicured and pools were clean. Despite rainy weather we enjoyed the beach and resort property. Parking lot flooded in areas leaving a few cars in deep water but rain was very heavy at times.
My husband and I stayed at Springmaid Beach Resort August 31 through September 2. We enjoyed our stay there. The rooms were clean with towels in bathroom neatly, creatively folded. The refrigerator turned on and ice maker making ice. The beds were clean and comfortable. The service from the check in to the time of our check out was friendly and willing to help. The breakfast at Marlin's was delicious and well prepared. This is a family friendly resort with indoor/outdoor pools, lazy river along with miniature golf and beautiful ocean view. I would recommend Springmaid Beach Resort for all families and couples to come and enjoy a safe, clean environment to stay with friendly service.
This was my first time to Myrtle Beach with my family and we had an amazing time!!! We stayed at the Palmetto resort within Springmaid for a week and everything was fantastic. All the amenities for the children were clean and functional. The beach was clean and the waters were amazing! With the private beach strip, we never found it crowded and we were able to stay their for the entire day. Rooms were very clean, modern and had no issues. Would highly recommend to any family or couples getaway. Staff was super friendly and eager to assist with any requests we had.
