“Love, love, love this place!!”
Reviewed July 2, 2011

I'm always hesitant to stay at a hotel that I haven't stayed at before. I took the plunge and went for it and we couldn't have been more satisfied!! The rooms are very good, not excellent, but you can't expect excellent for a somewhat older beachfront hotel. The beds were comfy with great pillows, bathroom appeared to be completly remodeled as did the rest of the room and even a flat screen tv on the wall!! Full size refrigerator, microwave, in room coffee maker and in room safe. Housekeeping did a great job and they were very friendly and pleasant. We stayed at Live Oak and when I go back that is where I will request to stay again due to it being the closest to the pier. We honestly only left the resort one evening to go to a seafood restaurant and to get some groceries and never left again! We ate at the little diner on the pier BARnacles two evenings, very good hamburger and onion rings. Good fitness center in the Palmetto building, not that far of a walk. The beach is great because it is not so crowded in that area, loved the variety of pools on the grounds,,, would be great for children, the pier is awesome (we went out on it at least twice a day to see what varieties of sea creatures were being caught). The pool chairs, tables, etc. are all very good quality and the pools, grounds, landscapping, etc are very well maintained. Loved the ample sized balcony to sit and watch the waves. I have tried to think of anything negative about our stay and the only thing i can come up with is that the doors to the balcony and the outside do slam quite loudly and it seems fairlly easy to hear this and any other noise going on in the rooms on either side or above you. After the first day we got use to the slamming doors and didn't really notice it much after that. Even the parking was great, there were parking spaces in the shade under the hotel and a lot right next to the hotel. NEVER had trouble finding a parking place close. There are only 6 floors in this building so even if we had to wait on the elevator the wait wasn't very long. We are so excited to finally find a place we love to stay when we visit Myrtle Beach!

The resort has lots for both kids and adults. There are several pools. One of the pools has tubes for kids as well as adults to ride.
The location is less than 5 miles from the airport. It is easy to get there from the Myrtle Beach Airport. The resort is right on the beach, you do not have to cross any streets.
The rooms have flat screen tvs, refrigerators, and microwaves. The refrigerator is full size. You also have a safe for you cash things of value. The WI FI is excellent, there are several hot spots , to connect.
I noticed when I looked at my network connections I had 3 choices , and chose the one with the best connection. Some hotels have certain areas where you can not pick up the WiFi signal. Springmaid has done a great job making the WI FI connection strong.
The area was so beatuiful , I took several short videos.

Rooms were very old and cleanliness was definitely not a priority, mold in the bathroom and ants in the bathroom sink, does not warrant a return visit. Would not recommend staying here.

It was ok place to stay if you don't have expectatons. We've stayed at nicer hotels for less or the same price. If all you want is a place to stay with a frig and microwave then this is it. If you want nice updated rooms, it isn't.

Room Tip: Take your own pillows, ours were like small rocks.

I took my husband to this resort as a last minute father's day gift. I was pleasently suprised. Even though the rooms were a little "older" they were very clean. The room had a nice full size fridge and microwave. (I wish there would have been a kitchen). The beach was wonderful and not crowded at all. The pier was great and free to the customers of the hotel. My kids loved the lazy river, but wish that the river would have been larger. Overall, what a nice place to stay for a family. I really enjoyed my get away weekend.

For 150 beach side you would think it would be nice. It's not close to anything so privacy should have been a plus. There was a corvette convention so they blocked most of the lot so they could double park to protect their toys. The room was a 100 year old dump with trash bags all over the place and smelly areas. Pool had tile falling off, and staff hanging out all over. Stay away from here.

Room Tip: don't stay here
