“Best place to stay In Myrtle Beach!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed October 16, 2013

Island Vista in nestled between residential homes giving the beach a private feel. The suites are spacious, clean and comfortable. We'd definitely choose Island Vista again for our next trip to Myrtle Beach.

Room Tip: Choose a room higher up for less pool noise and a better ocean view.

I am hoping that my room is not the norm. 701 is very very outdated. The TVs in the bedrooms and the coffee pot were all items that my own mother owned in the 80s. It is spacious and the view is spectacular. I did not come on vacation to watch tv, but first impressions make a difference, especially since this is our first time traveling to myrtle beach. I would surely return if I knew that I would receive a much nicer room. The cooking utensils are do disgusting, they are melted and rusty and clearly came from the dollar store. Buying them from the dollar store is smart, because then you can easily replace them! I was relieved to find salt and pepper shakers, only to find them empty. I called twice to question the temperature of the pool before booking my room because I hate being cold. I was given 2 answers 80 and 85. The first 2 days it was freezing and clearly they turned on the heat on Saturday. That is just wrong to try to save money at the expense of your mid week customers. If that is your policy. Be Honest. I received amazing service from my housekeeper. Please promote her to front desk, she knows how to make people feel welcome and valued. Also loved the cypress room and the location. I booked directly through the hotel and I guess it's just the luck of the draw.

Thank you for your recent review, and for choosing the Island Vista as your host in Myrtle Beach. While most of the bedroom and living room furnishings are new for 2013, we have not seen any requests regarding our TV’s to date. Our living room televisions are 42” LG flat-screen HD LED sets, and the signal is via Time-Warner digital box, all with DVD players attached… this is best technology available in our area at this time, and we do try to provide the best in every way. The televisions in the bedrooms, also digital, are smaller in that the 42” screens just don’t fit onto the bedroom furniture.

We often hear from guests thanking us for providing the in-room coffee service… our coffee packages are so popular with our guests, that we have kept the same brand for years. While cappuccinos and lattes are always available in the Cypress Room, most guests have expressed a preference for a little less trouble in the room, and it only requires a relatively simple coffee maker to make a pot. As always, our staff is here 24 hours a day to help with any need, and any request is treated with priority. We always have replacement utensils, pots, pans, all kitchen equipment (including a new coffee maker, if needed)… a call to the front desk prompts a radio call to our staff and an instant delivery of the needed item.

Our south (outside) pool temperature varies a little with the weather… I asked our pool technician to show me, and today, it’s 83 degrees. If we have a cloudy or rainy day, it can vary with the amount of sunshine, but the heater is currently set at 84 degrees, as are the indoor pools. The indoor pools are not subject to sunshine, so they stay at the 84 degrees, and both Jacuzzis are available to set as high as 102 degrees, 2 degrees less than the maximum allowed by DHEC.

Thank you very much for your kind comments regarding our housekeeping services and the Cypress Room cuisine. We are very proud of both, and we love to share comments such as yours with those who work so hard to keep our standards high.

Thank you…

We have been staying at the Island Vista Resort since it opened and stayed at it's predecessor hotel, the Sea Island, before that. The staff is great and the property is the nicest on Myrtle Beach. We spend a month at the Island Vista each year. The hotel's restaurant is nice as well.

Room Tip: Tip: It is easy to get door dings on your car in the hotel's high-rise parking lot because the s...

This past visit is our 4th time and like the previous times, the quality, friendliness and overall experience was outstanding. From the moment you check in until the time you leave, you feel welcomed and appreciated. The rooms are clean and fresh, the bed and linens are of high quality and the breakfast that is offered in their restaurant is not only good but very reasonably priced. Although we have never have dined in the restaurant at night, the ratings are consistantly high. One nice feature is the fact that the hotel is off the beaten path away from the complex of multi storied high rises. This makes the beach less crowded and the ease in and out of the hotel much easier.
We feel like this is "home" when we go to Myrtle Beach for a long weekend get away. No question that we will continue to visit the Island Vista for years to come.

This was truly the best vacation ever! My husband and I were both very impressed with the quality of our room. I can honestly say that the beds were the best I've ever slept in. They were lofty, had tons of good pillows, and a high quality down comforter. Our room had laundry machines, a full kitchen and a balcony overlooking the ocean. We were on the 10th floor and enjoyed spectacular views. My kids loved the lazy rive pool. There was no shortage of great spots to park yourself for relaxation. The beach was spectacular. There's so much to do in Myrtle Beach, but I was completely satisfied just spending time at this hotel. We are definitely coming back.

We found out about Island Vista thru friends and although it's showing some age it's a great place for the price. The outside pools are lovely & the beach is only steps away. But be warned (as I was) that the umbrellas and chairs on the beach are run by a separate company and are expensive. So bring your own. The inside pools and lazy river are more for the little kids but could be a big asset in the winter. Our one bedroom was spacious, the Murphy bed very ingenious, though the kitchen design and contents a bit lacking. We'd stay here again. Make sure you try the on site restaurant the Cypress Room.

We have been traveling to Myrtle Beach for 20+ years and this was the first time we stayed at Island Vista. What a great find!! Beautiful resort, great location, quiet area, very friendly staff and beautiful accommodations. All the rooms have incredible ocean views and are very clean and updated. We are planning on returning to Myrtle Beach again in the near future and Island Vista will be our property of choice!!

Room Tip: All rooms are ocean view and the sunrises are amazing so you can't go wrong no matter what room...
