Let's first say that I was more than skeptical to try a new hotel. It takes a lot to meet my expectations and to make me happy and this hotel did just that! It actually exceeded my expectations. We visited this hotel from July 7 - 12. Check in was a little delayed by 20 minutes but I'd rather the rooms be super clean then check in early and it was very clean. We stayed in a 4 bedroom, actually 410 & 420. 410 is actually a 3 bedroom unit but has a connecting door to 420, which has it's own exterior door to the hall way and it's own balcony separate from unit 410. The unit was very spacious. Furniture was in good condition, carpet was clean as well. All bathrooms were nice and clean. I'm not a huge fan of soft beds but the bed was newer, soft but acceptable. The sheets, pillows and comforter were all in excellent condition. The kitchen was functional and acceptable. We cook all meals in the unit as we have small children and don't like to deal with lines and traveling with babies and toddlers and this kitchen had more than enough space for all the food and supplies that we brought. There were plenty of plates, and glasses, two frying pans, and two different pot sizes and a couple casserole dishes, a strainer, spatulas and two small cutting boards. I would suggest if you do plan to cook you might bring a few things yourself. There were only 2 knives and both were not very functional. We also brought a griddle/ flat plug in skillet for cooking bacon, pancakes, etc. for large groups and a slow cookers. We asked for another pan and they provided a new one, no problem. The ice maker in the hotel NEVER ran out! EVER! and we used it a lot for packing coolers for food and drinks on the beach and when we left to go home. It seemed to make endless ice!! Other hotel ice makers seem to run out by noon or don't have ice in them. Elevators were perfectly fine as well. I never waited more than 2 mins. and I had two babies in my arms so waiting would have been difficult. The pools are excellent!! Two areas of indoor pools for children with spraying water functions and water falls, etc. And two large outdoor pools. In the past, I've been very disappointed by the pools at Myrtle but these pools were great. The exterior pools had sunshine for most of the day, into the evening. The pools were also open very late, 11 PM (I think), the older kids went back down and swam late at night. The hotel had a restaurant which seemed to get a lot of traffic and they gave us a $175.00 credit for it upon check in but we didn't use it. There is plenty of outside seating and of course you can always rent chairs and umbrella's but it's not necessary if you are willing to bring your own. You can install your own umbrella with no problem to the left side of the resort (facing the ocean) as there is public beach area there. Normally, public beach areas seem to attract unwanted visitors and pool invaders but this area had almost no traffic. Overall, this resort was great! Oh, other people have complained about the parking garage. Yes, it was dark and tight but I've seen worse. My family has a Suburban and they were able to fit it in a spot and if they can fit anyone can! I had a topper on my vehicle and they hotel had an area where we could store it. People also complained about the fact that if you are staying on the upper floors in the hotel, you have to take the elevator down to the floor your car is parked on to access the door in the hall to get into the parking garage. We didn't have that issue, as we stayed on the 4th floor which had direct access to the garage (which I think is maybe 6 or 7 floor high) but, I've never stayed ANYWHERE in the world, where you can do that on upper levels. Most hotels, you have to go all the way down to the lobby, cross the lobby, go to the basement or across the street. So...having the garage connected was a perk! So what if you have to take an elevator to a lower floor to get to it, at least you aren't crossing the street like at The Anderson Ocean Beach Club. Some people also complained about the TV's. 3 out of the 4 bedrooms had flat screens and the living room did as well. But honestly, I never turned mine on, so I guess it was good that I had an old TV. My room connected to the balcony so we had that view instead. There was some entertainment at the hotel which was nice. On two different days, in the afternoon into early evening there was someone playing the guitar and then someone playing steel drums. I never sat and watched but did notice the nice easy listening music. There also was some type of Hawaiian dance event for about an hour. The kids liked it. Wasn't anything that interested me. Last thing, at check out there was an "incidental" charge on our bill. If I hadn't asked, I'm not sure they would have told me, but it was for $38.00 from the pool Tiki Bar. We never ordered anything from the Tiki Bar and I simply told them that and they took it off no problem. I did see people order drinks and food during lunch but I never paid much attention to it but I know they offer it. Overall, this was an excellent experience and it's our new place to stay in Myrtle Beach. We use to stay at the Anderson Ocean Beach club and changed because of our expanding family and needed a 4th bedroom but now that we've stayed here, I'll never go back. I didn't feel like I was in a HUGE hotel. 5 stars!! Sorry no photos as we were too busy having fun! but the pics online are true to life pics. Actually, I think the pics on the hotel web site don't really do it justice.
