“Good place to stay!”

We arrived between 8:30-9:30 a.m. on a wednesday morning. We had no trouble checking in had to wait a few hours for the room to be cleaned but the pools and beach definetly kept us occupied. Our room was really nice we had an of eff on the 7th floor, the view was awesome. The indoor and outdoor pools were very clean and you have use either pools at the condo or hotel.The only part I didnt like is we had to park across the street almost 2 parking lots away. Its not close to any of the good attractions either so you have to drive.

We booked this nice, oceanfront condo for 7 people. It had the master b room, a 2 queen b room & a sleeper sofa. Whenever we took the cushions off the sofa, there was a piece plyboard under them. We pulled out the bed & all the springs that held the mattress, fell out in the floor. It would not hold up the mattress. 2nd shift maintenance came, looked at it & told us to put the mattress in the floor. Then, the next day,after being in the ocean and sand, we were kind of dirty & needed a shower. Our beds were stripped, our towels, washclothes, & handtowels were ALL gone. We had to wait 6 hrs for a shower. Other than the carpet needing a good cleaning, this is a great condo. I would stay again. The pools and hot tub and lazy river were great.

Room Tip: Make sure you have detergent for dishes & laundry.

This was the first time staying at Holiday sands south condo's and it will be the last. The condo's were took over by CondoLux and it is horrible now. We got there the first night and there was No sheets, pillow cases or covers for the bed, the remote controllers didn't work, the dryer had gum stuck in it, and the floors were nasty. The WORST part of it was everytime we needed something, we had to call condolux, which was miles down the road and wait for a long time to get anything. The maids came in 1 time to clean the whole 5 days we were there, after we raised so much hell. The advertisement for this place is a BIG lie.

when we first got there and went to the room it was dirty. the sheets were dirty the pillow cases were dirty and the pillows looked like they had pee stains on them all over them. the refrigerator had rust on the front of it and the carpet was dirty. the smoke alarm was hanging out of the ceiling. the desk could not do anything because they said they would get in trouble they told us we had to go to condolux which is over by broadway at the beach. we took the pillows over there and they give us new ones and let us change rooms. but whenever we needed something we had to call condo lux the desk at the hotel couldnt do anything.the last night the smoke alarms went off and the desk again couldnt do anything i had to call condo lux i sat in the hallway for 1 and a half hours until it got fixed its a good thing i didnt have little kids or babies to get up. also the bottom sheet was tied in the corners and would not stay on the bed. although i have been staying here for the last 4 or 5 years i will not go back!!!!

My family and I have stayed here for the past 5 years. I was always pleased with this place until this year. The condos are really nice and clean but this year a "transition" took place the second day of our arrival. Apparently the place was sold on Monday to another company. So they came in and removed ALL the bedding, took all the towels, (even the clean ones) and left us with nothing. After numerous calls to the front desk by which we were given several different stories, I walked down at 9:45 pm and asked for sheets and towels. To which I was given a phone number and told to call them. THEY would provide these items. I reiterated the time of the evening and that my children wanted to go to bed. His reply was SORRY. Can't help you. On top of that, our AC unit didn't work 50% of the time. My husband even dipped water out if the tray himself to try and get it to work. The tub wouldnt drain correctly, remote in the bedroom didnt work, and the lamp needed a new bulb. So, no towels, no sheets, no trash pickup, for this week. And to make matters worse, they decided to resurface the hot tub in JUNE! So it was closed for 2 1/2 days. I was told we could use the one at the hotel but I didn't pay for the hotel! I paid for the condo!!! I was completely appalled by the way the staff of both parties handled the transition! Then I found out from other vacationers that they were reimbursed for their inconvenience but I can't seem to get even a call back from these people! The nerve! We paid the people over $1000 for the time there and received absolutely TERRIBLE service!! Not sure if I'll go back or not!

Where do I begin? Let's start at the rudest receptionist I've ever met who gave my family and I the coldest welcome we've ever received at a hotel. There is only 2 elevators in the hotel and one of them was broken the entire 4 days we stayed there. Our family had to walk 6 flights of stairs at least 4 times a day. When we were too tired to walk, we had to wait sometimes 15-20 min to use the elevator.

This was one the most unsanitary places my family and I have ever stayed. The rooms and hallways had a horrible smell and housekeeping only came one time out of the for 4 days we stayed and when they finally came, (waking up our entire family at 9:00 in the morning) the only thing they did was make up the less-than-comfortable beds. They didn't even empty the trash! The room was even half-cleaned when we arrived. My stomach turned when I first walked inside of the bathroom and found a big pubic hair on the toilet.

And as a parting gift, the rotten cherry on top of an already spoiled sundae, roaches came back with us from the hotel. We've lived in our house for 14 years and had never seen a single roach until the day after we returned from our trip. We had to spend $30 in exterminating fogs just to get rid of the things.

My family and I wouldn't come back to this hotel if they offered us a free visit. I wouldn't recommend Holiday Sands South to anyone, unless they're actually looking for a grossly over-priced hotel with horrible quality and service.

we were scheduled to arrive june 23, 2013 for a 3 night stay. it was me, hubby, and 4 kids. the night before our trip, mind you we are packed and ready to go in the morning, we get a call. my husband's mother passed away unexpectedly. we call and told the manager. we were told we would get a full refund of our money. i called a week later to find out where the refund was. i was told it could take up to a month. that the hotel was not able to give ANY of the customers refunds cause they didn't have the money to do so. sounds like crap!!!!! i will be raising hell with them. and i will never make reservations with them again. we are planning another trip to myrtle beach in july.
