If you are planning a visit over Christmas be prepared for third world visitors and their relatives already here in the USA. The place is full of non-christians and their kids who never stop slamming doors "All Night Long". The staff is great and the facilities, although getting a bit long in the tooth, are adequate.(in other words it's the same decor as six years ago). The gates they installed for protection of guests vehicles only work on weekends. Water parks are great. Christmas dinner was excellent. Carry out from the dining room is weird--you pay for the meal, they add 10% for the carryout container, then the sales tax of 11 % is added and then you are expected to tip the server --this can run a $20 purchase up to more than $28. Overall I recommend the Dunes as a great FAMILY resort but if you want peace and quiet don't stay over a weekend during the winter months.

Room Tip: Never on the first floor.

Thank you for taking the time to review Dunes Village Resort. We appreciate your feedback, and we are glad to hear that you enjoyed our Christmas feast.

Our staff is one of the best on the beach because they know the true meaning of the word "hospitality."

We agree that we are a Family Resort, with family fun all year long for any age.

We hope to see you back here soon. Until then....

Had a great week from March 16 to the 23, 2013. Great room with lots of space for my wife and myself. Good location right on the beach an nice area to walk around. Lots of parking and a great water park indoor with pool tables. Would recommend this place to friends. Would stay again.

Room Tip: Get a high floor room and the queen suites. Maybe an extended balcony if wanting a lounge chair.

My review is very mixed. The value for what we paid was excellent. Can't say enough for the deal we got. The amenities are some of the best, love the waterpark, the beach, the kid play areas, etc. the room was nice, the view was perfect. The elevators were extremely fast. And the Captains Cafe has some REALLY good food and drinks. Try the she-crab soup and the lava lamp frozen drink. Bring some money, though, this place isn't cheap.

My cons:
The walls are extremely thin. It's unnerving to be laying in bed listening to your neighbors conversation. They weren't speaking loud either. This is also a place with a big draw for kids... And kids are loud. So, don't even bother taking a nap in the middle of the day. There is nothing to dampen the sounds of the slamming doors, squealing voices, etc.

The wifi is a joke. Don't advertise free wifi if its that slow. Even in the lobby it is unusable. Don't book this hotel if you need the Internet while you are there, data signals aren't great in the area either.

Other than those two things, everything was just awesome. And we will definitely go back, but probably only with kids. This is not the place to go for a relaxing couples retreat.

Thank you for your review of Dunes Village Resort. The good news is......our WiFi has gotten an upgrade, and the upgrade has taken a little time to get put into place, but the final project WILL be complete before the end of April. What this means is faster and better signals, since we are now up to date in our technology.

We hope you get back here with the family soon to see all the changes we have made. Thanks again for staying with us!

Perfect location! It is far enough away from the main strip but super close to all the attractions. Every room has an ocean view. The water parks in both buildings are great. My 2 kids had a blast. Sunday morning I went to the Seattle Coffee Bar which was set up like Starbucks. The coffee and service was good. They have 2 other restaurants I think but we didn't try any of them. Broadway at the Beach is only about 10 mins away.

Room Tip: We stayed in room 832 and it was good.

Thank you for such a wonderful review of Dunes Village Resort. We are glad to hear that you enjoyed your stay so much!

Guess what? We just switched our coffee shop over to be a true Starbucks Coffee Shop! So now you can get their signature blends right here in our lobby!

The other 2 restaurants that you missed are wonderful, so the next time you come, you must try them out. Hope to see you here again soon!
