The Bay View Resort was a beautiful and clean hotel. The staff was very friendly. Amber at the front desk and Tracy the bell man were friendly and very helpful during my family's viist there. The hotel was kid friendly and very welcoming. My family thoroughly enjoyed the cleaniness of the rooms and the staff who were very professional and friendly. Way to go Bay View Resort Myrtle Beach, SC! We will return soon.

Don't listen to those who say "stay away"! I have been to a lot of hotels in Myrtle Beach and this one is FABULOUS...especially for the price.

THE PARKING GARAGE IS NOT TWO BLOCKS AWAY OR A MILE AWAY as previous reviewers have stated. It is literally across the street behind some older hotels. We didn't have a problem with people propping the doors open. They were always securely locked.

Check-in was very quick. You just have to prepare to possibly wait for the key to activate for your room. It took a few minutes to be able to open our door - no big deal! The staff was also very friendly!

I understand why people who stayed in July or August would complain about the elevators, but you have to realize....the hotel is 19 stories high and hundreds of people are staying at the same time! The elevators themselves were quite fast. It's just the people getting on/off that make them slow. Most of the time we got in and went up to our floor without having to stop.

The room was beautiful. We had a 1 bedroom oceanfront condo. It was clean, spaceous and very nicely decorated. It had a washer and dryer, which made it great to not have to come home with dirty laundry! Tiled floors, granite countertops, modern cabinets, pretty colors and nice living room/dining room area. It was a place where I didn't feel gross if I took my shoes off. I could actually relax!

Some people complain about the weirdest things...The balconies were very nice and who cares if there are no screens on the balcony doors!?! Most hotels/condos don't have screens. We were on the 18th floor and it was GORGEOUS! The views were amazing!

The pool area is not outside. It is inside but they leave the huge glass doors open, so there is plenty of sunlight and air circulating. It is not dark like another reviewer said. It's actually really nice being able to swim in there at night too! The pool is quite small and is only about 3 or 4 feet deep. There is a baby pool and a small lazy river. There's also a cute children's water area outside. If you have small kids, they probably would LOVE this! And you wouldn't have to apply sunscreen all day! It would be nice if they would invest in a large outdoor pool in the future. I'm sure they have thought about it and hopefully will consider it!

Also...IT IS NOT IN THE GHETTO as other reviewers have said. They obviously have never been to Myrtle Beach before. It is in front of 2 older hotels. The beach shops and boardwalk are just about 2 blocks from the hotel and some of it looks run down. Well, if you have been to Myrtle before, you understand what it looks like. They are actually re-doing the boardwalk this fall and a brand new, beautiful one is supposed to be ready in 2010.

Anyway...I think you get the point! We had a great vacation and a very relaxing one. We are planning on going back to the Bay View next year for a 2 week vacation in September. We have looked at other places and for the money and the amenities, you can't beat it! I think if you try it, you will love it! The only complaint I have are that the beds are not that comfortable. Small complaint for a great experience overall.

We liked our stay at Bayview resort. i don't think we could have gotten a better rate anywhere on the beach with the nice accommodations. The most unpleasant thing about the trip was very poor house cleaning services. They didn't show up until around 2'oclock pm and then did as little as possible. The elevators were slow and overcrowded and check in was awful because of the slow elevators but we would stay again because of the special rates which are very good. Over all, a good vacation.

I will never stay at ther bay view again. The parking is located two blocks away from the hotel. Needless to say if it rains you will get wet. The elevators did not work at times There were no towels, pillows or blankets in the room. When i called to the desk i was told that there was no room service and i had to go downstairs. The remote in the room did not work. The matress felt like a water bed... TERRIBLE. The only possitive thing about the hotel has good security.

Arrived Sunday, August 16, 2009. Check-in was busy, but we were here for fun, so we dealt with it. My wife unloaded the car while we were parked in line, making four trips up the stairs to the fourth floor, since the elevators were very busy, as well.
Although we had a room facing the northwest corner, there were TWO separate balconies, alowing both Atlantic Ocean and Ocean Drive views, which I really liked.
The room was exceptionally clean, the kitchen was stocked with all utensils and dishware, and included all full-sized appliances. There was also a separate dining area and even a washer and dryer, inside their own enclosed closet.
The air-conditioning/furnace is very high quality and worked extremely well and was very quiet.
The beds were very comfortable, and there was a TV in the bedroom, as well as a large closet and his/hers dresser. A balcony entrance was connected to the bedroom, as well.
At the north end of the condo, there was a sitting room with a large-screen TV, loveseat, comfortable chair, and entries to each of the balconies.
The bathroom and shower were nice, and very private, unlike many regular motels or even hotels, although the morning water was cold.
There was an indoor pool and very small "lazy river", but we did not use either, as the weather outside made for the perfect "fun in the sun" vacation. There was also a fitness center and recreation area, each located on the street side of the building, on separate levels.

The only real disappointments were the crowded elevators( I'm glad we were only on the fourth floor!), lack of screens on the patio doors, and the fact that there was a strong odor of the previous guests bacon in the microwave oven! There also is not a restaurant attached, only a Starbucks. The parking structure is fully enclosed, but only secure if other guests refrain from proping the pedestrian doors open.

The city of Myrtle Beach itself has undergone some changes, and the slow economy has taken it's toll on many of the smaller businesses, but we feel that the value we received at the Bayview Resort this year was very economical for our budget. We stayed Sunday afternoon through Thursday morning, booking the stay about a month-and-a half in advance.
