“A Step Up From The Average Tourist Spot”
Reviewed August 15, 2013

While the Islamorada Fish Company (owned by Bass Pro Shop) is a step up from the typical Myrtle Beach tourist restaurant, it's not at the level of fine dining. That said, the place is very clean and neat, and houses a huge salt water aquarium behind the bar. The menu is typical bar fare, yet done well. Our bartender was pleasant and our meals more than good. Big portions and nicely prepared. Our visit included a very loud young baby, which was annoying after awhile. With high ceilings and a huge serving area, I'm sure it would be loud with any happy hour crowd filling it. Yet, I'd patronize Islamorda again next time in <yrtle Beach.

“customerservice”
Reviewed August 15, 2013

I have been patronizing this restaurant for happy hour appetizers since the restaurant opened. Bob the bartender gave great service and the food was great. He's gone and last night was my final visit. Arrived at 6:30 as usual. The bartender was very frustrated as she was tending bar (4 patrons) as well as the one portion of the dining room that was open. Placed order and looked over happy hour menu ( I actually should have it memorized) At 6:55 finally got her attention to place order for appetizers." I'm slammed and not serving food at the bar tonight". We asked to see a manager as she scurried off. Decided it wasn't worth the effort, estimated drink price, left the money and departed. Hope she makes lots of money this winter. This is one local that will not be back. JG Myrtle Beach

“Great Lunch!”
Reviewed July 31, 2013

We were initially skeptical about having lunch here as a Bass Pro checkout lady told us it was not very good. She said "I'm supposed to say it is but..." We decided to go anyway and are glad we did.

The waitress had a thick southern accent (loved it) and was very sweet and explained the specials and the dishes we asked about. My husband and I got the fried fish basket with fries and coleslaw...fish was great and I usually am picky on my coleslaw but it was wonderful also!

The atmosphere was great and it wasn't to busy when we went. Our grandson loved the fish tank :)

“gotta have good help....”
Reviewed July 8, 2013

We visited on Friday night, and they were very short on help. Service was very slow, although our server did seem to be working very hard- he just had lots of tables to cover.
Crab cake was nearly burned, but no way sending that back after such a long wait.
Portions are large, and while you wait for a table you can browse the Bass Pro Shop-- they will call your mobile phone when your table is ready.
They feature mahi-mahi, and the descriptions sounded good. Will probably try again on a night when they have enough staff...

“Don't Bother! So many other options.”
Reviewed June 25, 2013 via mobile

We were told it was an hour wait even though they were only 1/4 full. Claimed there were only 3 servers working. We went next door to Bass Pro to shop awhile. Little teeny bopper claimed she paged us to alert us to an earlier table when we returned. (No page). Took 10 minutes for bartender to come take our order in between slinging drinks. Manager was clueless running around like a chicken, basically doing nothing. Food was decent but the teeny bopper that delivered it wasn't smart enough to remove the brocolli from the microwave bags and did it table side. Really? This used to be a favorite of ours, but time to move on. Poor management and service.
