This small, intimate restaurant, seating about 35 customers, is a gem. It evoked for my wife and I the great restaurants we visited in Germany during our three years there. We arrived at just after the opening time of 5:00 p.m. and the place was half full. So reservations are probably a must at this outstanding restaurant. We started with an Australian burgundy in a 1 liter bottle (which we carried back to the hotel for later) and then had bread and salad. Our entrees were schnitzel that we selected from a list of alluring Austrian specialties. The food was delicious, the service, by the owner (dressed appropriately in a dirndl) and the wait staff was constant and not at all overbearing.

We had another wonderful dining experience at Café Old Vienna. The food is delicious, and the service in this small restaurant cannot be beat. Both my husband and I ordered the schnitzel and we could hear the chef in the kitchen tenderizing the veal before it was cooked. Everything we ordered was top notch. The sauerkraut is probably the best I've ever tasted. When the desserts were served, they looked like a work of art -- not just a piece of cake dropped on a plate. They owners of this restaurant take great care to be sure everything is perfect. We will most definitely dine at this restaurant each time we are in Myrtle Beach!

This was the best Austrian/German food that I have had in years. We enjoyed it so much that we came back for a second time a few days after our first visit! The sauerbraten, one of the weekly specials, was succulent, fork tender and so flavorful. The spaetzle and red cabbage were tender and seasoned to perfection. Upon our return, we tried the schnitzel which was equally as amazing, with a thin crisp crust but moist meat. We also had the lemon cake which, although not made in-house, was rich and decadent. The service was friendly, attentive, and efficient. We truly felt like welcome guests! This may have been our first visit but definitely won't be our last!

Having enjoyed the delights of Vienna earlier this year we found this excellent restaurant to be as close as you can get to the cafes of Vienna without making the trip. While its small and difficult to find (like some of the fine Viennese cafes as well!), the service, food and hospitality were comparable to the best. The owner herself served us, was very gracious in allowing us to arrive just before closing, was attentive to the smallest details and in many ways reminded us of the wonderful times we had in Vienna. Crepes were especially superb!

All in all this is excellent cuisine if you are looking for a change from the usual fare offered along the coast.

This is second time there. We enjoyed it so much first time two years ago, we had to visit again. Service was quick and food was delicious. The schnitzel was better than that which we had in Vienna Austria. We will visit again on our next visit to MB. This has become a family favorite.
