Great location for family outdoor outing! Had a cookout, and everything went extremely well! The children had a blast with the playground equipment, beach, etc. Lots of space for fun things to do!

I had my wedding on 9/8/13 at Myrtle Beach State Park and it is absolutely beautiful there. The sand was clean as were the shelters.

A nice state park with pretty views. Enjoyed the free pier and even could go out on it late at night. Our house wasn't to far from the pier so we just walked along the beach so we didn't have to pay for the park entrance. The gift shop was nice as well and even offered icecream. This is one of the only free piers you can walk on in Myrtle Beach.

There's only a tiny sign off Route 17 to direct you to the Myrtle Beach State Park but it is a hidden gem. The beach is clean and wide and there is a fishing pier where you can watch locals catch small sharks and other local fish.
There is a well stocked store, clean bathrooms and a boarded walkway to get along the beach with information about local vegetation and wildlife.
There are also covered picnic shelters that can be rented by the day or used in general if they have not been pre booked by a large party and there are walking and biking trails around the park.
There is a fee to go into the park but it is well worth the $5 per person charged and once paid it is good all day so you can go in and out of the park as you please.

My friends and I go here all of the time. Plenty of parking and uncrowded , clean beaches. There are restrooms and a snack/gift shop and it's in a state park so there are also walking trails through the woods as well as picnic areas with grills.
