“Nicer Beach, Less Crowds, worth the price of admission”
Reviewed May 17, 2013

If you are looking to get away from the hustle and bustle, fist pumping of Myrtle beach then this is the place to be. Less Crowds, softer sand... plenty of room to spread out and enjoy some Sand Dunes and the Beach. In town the beach is free, but for $5 you buy a little serenity and isn't that why you head for the beach?

“Great Park!”
Reviewed May 14, 2013

The State park is a excellent destination if you wish to sit back and get out of the distractions in the city. There is a fee to enter the park by the car or by the person which is becoming the norm across the country for many of the better state parks.

The pier offers fishing but the cost is about the same as taking a half day charter so we did not take advantage of this option. The marine life and shells are abundant but during my stay I did not notice much difference compared to the city beaches. Probably due to my off-season stay.

The picnic tables are nice and locations are abundant.

In all a great destination to get away from the city!

“Great Beach!”
Reviewed May 13, 2013

This was our first visit to Myrtle Beach State Park and thought the beach itself was great! We spent our entire visit on the beach on the left side of the pier. The handicap accessible ramp was very useful as we had all of our beach equipment (and one child) loaded in a stroller. The parking was easy. We had no problem getting down to the beach and found a nice spot to set up.

We didn't do anything else other than stay on the beach our entire visit, so can't comment on the other things the park has to offer visitors. The price is $5/adult, and we visited on a weekday.

“Great Campsites”
Reviewed May 10, 2013

We just purchased an RV and went to the Park to check out the sites and prices. The guard at the gate was very helpful, answering all our questions and giving us a brochure. Will definitely be back.
