“Take a break.”
Reviewed November 18, 2012

As you enter the park you wind through the woods to arrive at the beach and pier. The woods are spotted with picnic areas as well as some closer to the beach. The park is clean and well taken care of. If you look back from the beach you can see the wind swept trees that must have been the norm for what is now miles of “progress” along the rest of the shore line. You are reminded you are not on a far away beach by the occasional plane from the nearby airport going by. There is a small fee to enter and you can rent other areas

“This is a Beautiful Park”
Reviewed November 16, 2012

How many places can you go to in the united states that have an oceanfront state park . It's clean and neat . They have a boardwalk, playground, and lots of other things .

“Cabins are beautiful...”
Reviewed November 8, 2012

I was quite surprised at just how nice the cabin was. Rustic look and feel, but very homey and comfortable. Well stocked, clean, well maintained. The view was wonderful, and provided privacy.

“wonderful beach but below average campground”
Reviewed November 7, 2012

There is only one lane for all vehicles (registered and non-registered) to enter the park so be prepared for ridiculously long wait times to enter the park. And at the campground registration building, with only one staff handling both reservations and the concessions, expect long waits to register as well. There is free wifi, however, as with most state parks, it is exasperatingly slow and only works near the office. This is a large campground with about 350 sites, which generally are quite close together. Sites have EW, 54 have sewer and there are 7 pull-through sites. Most sites are shaded. There are a few short walking trails and fishing is available on the pier (permit = $5/day). The beach is truly wonderful (the nicest beach, north of Florida that I have been to) and only a short walk from the campground. However, during the time that we were there, the campground was filled with screaming kids, dogs that bark loudly anytime someone walks past their site, adults and children who drive their bikes through your site, and campers who do not pick up after their dogs. I have never encountered a more ignorant group of redneck campers than those at Myrtle Beach.
