We make a trip to Myrtle Beach for Thanksgiving and usually eat at the same buffet style restaurant. This year we decided to try something different. We chose this one. I will honestly say I don't regret the decision and I'm glad we tried it. Our waitress was very good, the food was average. The salad bar was small compared to some of the other buffet type restaurants in the area. The plates were small. I did like the crab legs. The steak had a grilled taste but was soaking in some type of liquid. The buffet area was crowded the way it was set up. The deserts were less desireable. The seating area was crowded. The lady at the table behind us thought she was the only one sitting in the room. She was pushed all the way back to where we had to pull our table back into the walkway. It was tight and uncomfortable. The other rooms in the restaurant were ice cold. I'm glad we were not seated in one of those rooms. They did have a special if you brought in a can for the local food bank, they took off a dollar per can up to 15 cans. This did not include the child price. The regular price of the buffet is $39.99 for adults. At the bottom of our bill there was a suggested tip amount. The tip amount was calculated based on the regular price not the discounted price we payed. Overall, the food and experience was just ok. We will not be returning next Thanksgiving to this restaurant.

If you love seafood, Original Ben's is your place! It is on the pricey side but for all you can eat, including crab legs, it pays for itself in no time. There is a dessert buffet as well with various cakes, pudding, cookies and an ice cream machine. We used a $4 off coupon for me and my 2 daughters. Our bill was a little over $80 with the coupon. They have a gift shop and you are greeted by a character (pirate, captain. etc) with their offering of beads. Lots of model ships placed throughout the restaurant to enjoy. There is a bar and a back covered patio over looking a river. It has many rocking chairs to sit and relax if you go in the warmer months. Friendly staff.

Lots of mediocre dishes, almost all were not hot, but barely warm.
The only thing that was very good were the crab legs.
Very high price, 30 bux per person.
Doubt if we will ever be back, plenty of other places to eat.
There was an terribly odor in the parking lot, smelled like food left in the dumpster for days...

Went here a couple of years ago and we were impressed. The food was fresh and hot and plentiful. This last time we went things were dried out or cold. The crab legs were mushy. Sure, it is all you can eat, but if it isn't good who wants it?
