Arrived early in the morning (7am) after an all night drive drive and was greated by a very friendly front desk. After confirming our reservation for that night he stated that if we could give himn our phone number he would make sure we got a call as soon as our room was ready.. We hit the beach for the day and sure enough recieved a call when our room was ready (before 3pm). The check in was quick and we were impressed with the clean and well maintained room. The bed was comfortable and the room even had a small washer and dryer. We stayed on the 10th floor in a 1 bedroom studio and the room was cleaned every day around 10am. Even though the hotel is in the middle of the strip, at night we could not hear any of the traffic in our room. We went down for the July 4th weekend and had no trouble finding a parking spot (and I drive a lifted fullsize truck). The hotel has about 20 parking spots at the hotel, and overflow parking right across the street. Crossing the street wasn't really that big of a deal as most people will stop for you if you are in a crosswalk. A great hotel with a friendly staff, we will definatly return..

This hotel is located right on the beach. That's the best thing going for this hotel. The mattress was too soft and uncomfortable. The rooms were big. We had a 1 bedroom suite. However, there were black scuff marks on the outside of our door and the furniture was dated. This would not have made much of a difference except that the Roxanne charges high rates ($150 a night) for this. There is no work out room. The Roxanne policy on smoking is inhumane: they don't permit smoking in the room (which is good), but they allow the guests to smoke all they want around the pool area, which tells me that they are only concerned about the valuables inside the hotel rooms getting burned and not about the health of their guests. Parking is free on the premises, which was good and the lounge chairs by the pools were comfortable and plentiful. I was told by Roxanne Towers Reps. that the 10% AAA discount is not offered during the months of June, July and August. We will not be coming back here as the Roxanne charges more than they offer.

Not a bad place to stay for the price. We had a 2 bedroom 2 bath. The carpet was quite grungy and needs to be replaced. The only other complaint I have is that kids were left unsupervised at the pool. Some of the kids had chairs in the lazy river.

When we arrived we were greeted by a great staff in the office they were very friendly and efficient. We asked about a grocery store they told us there was one within walking distance about a 5 minute walk which was very convenient. Our room was on the third floor and was decorated very nice by the owner and had a beautiful newer looking couch.
We stayed in a one bedroom that also had a murphy bed and pull out couch in the living room. The pools and lazy river were a lot of fun and kept very clean. We loved the location by the new boardwalk and plenty of restaurants. We loved the pancake house across the street to the south. Broadway on the beach was only a 5 minute drive we really liked the location of the Roxanne with so much to do nearby. Everything at the Roxanne looks fairly new they told me at the front desk the building was built 5 or 6 years ago. We had a wonderful stay and this is the place we will be staying every year now. I will try to get the unit I stayed in again next year since we really liked this one. The beach was never crowded either!

First of all, although this hotel is classes itself as non-smoking, this is not strictly true. Smoking is allowed on balconies (had trouble sitting out on mine in the am for my morning coffee due to smell of smoke from a nearby unit). It's also allowed anywhere outside even around the pool, so be warned if you really don't like smoke!
We stayed in a 2 bedroom suite with 4 adults, 2 children. Hotel is in a great location, walking distance to new boardwalk, shops, restaurants, pier. Beach is lovely, wide and clean. The pools were kept very clean, indoor door is not strictly indoors but under a roof with open air walls. The reception area was very small, 2 facing elevators in a tiny hallway that always created people jams, elevator doors close within about 5 seconds of arrival so don't dilly dally! Reception staff were great, helpful and able to recommend places although the Crabby Mike's restaurant they suggested ended up being a dud, poor food choice, have to wait for a clean plate from the waitress before you can go up for more food (strangest buffet process ever) and overpriced for what you get, go to Giant Crab instead, insanely busy but great food and ambience.
Now to the worst downside of this place - housekeeping. What a nightmare, we had problems 5 days out of 6, ranging from a sheet being rolled up into a ball and put under my daughters pillow (maid conveniently 'fired' the next day) to garbage not being emptied (excuse was that no time to train new maid, she didn't know where the garbage was! ) to no toilet paper, to the carpet not getting vacuumed (excuse was that we were on the balcony and she didn't want to get into trouble for making noise) to not sweeping the kitchen floor (not sure what the excuse for that was, my daughter dealt with this one).
The dining table was in the living room so the carpet, worn and quite grungy in the first place, tended to get messy during meals with 2 kids under 3. One day we ended up going to reception and borrowing a vacuum and doing it ourselves. Either supply cleaning tools or get the maid service sorted out, we would have been more than happy to clean up after ourselves.
Maintenance was also slow, on arrival we called that the fridge door shelf was broken and that the guest bathtub didn't drain, both concerns required a 2nd phone call, the tub took 2 days and the fridge shelf took 4 days to get fixed!
We also had problems getting clean towels, not replaced a couple of days even though the dirty ones were left on the floor.
Overall the hotel left me disappointed, I had done lots of reading to choose it in the first place and I have to honestly say that I can't give it a high rating due to these problems, and the smoking rules, to be honest I don't know why smokers would even want to check into a non-smoking hotel.

The Roxanne is advertised as smoke free units. Guests have the option of smoking on their balconies with the patio door closed. The pool area is very large. There is a covered pool which is enclosed during the fall and winter. It does not need to be enclosed during the summer because it does not need to be heated. There is also another outdoor pool, lazy river, covered heated spa, and kiddie pool. If I recommend a restaurant, I have had a good meal and service at in the past and they not up to par during July 4th week, I will refrain from recommendations when asked in the future. The refrigerator door shelf was not broken, it was loose and taken care of the same day, I have the work order. The tub drain was reported one evening and taken care of the next morning. As far as the housekeeping nightmare, the front desk manager was not contacted or we would have certainly addressed all. The housekeeper was fired. The problem with the garbage removal was the guest moved the container to the pantry from its usual place. Our apologies, The Roxanne Towers.

Pros: On the Grand Strand, Ocean Front Location, Full Kitchen, Price, Friendly Reception Staff

Cons: Peculiar housekeeping service, Dated Furnishings and Bedding, Mold on Shower Curtain, No beach amenities in units.

Be aware options are dated and limited on the Grand Strand proper so the choice comes down to the best of what's there. Many facilities look like they are straight out of the 70's and haven't changed since (including the bedding). Mattress and comforter probably have not been replaced in 20+ years. If you want updated and modern accommodations, head to North Myrtle Beach. I found it odd that there was no privacy door hanger so each morning bright and early housekeeping knocked and knocked and roused us. We are on someone else's schedule every other day of the year; vacation aught to mean that one's on one's own schedule...or lack thereof if so chosen. On day of check out, housekeeping again knocked early and then again about an hour later! I've never been at a place where they even bothered to knock before the check out time. On and a BIGGIE...if you tell housekeeping to come back later, they won't...you've lost your one shot for the day. The whole ordeal introduced an element of stress, needlessly, on what's meant to be a relaxation destination.

Overall, I would recommend this hotel to someone based on the "pros" so long as the "cons" are acceptable to an individual/family.

The Roxanne Towers is only 5 years old this year and many of the towers in the area about the same age. They do not appear as if they were furbished or built 20 years ago, but if this is the opinion of this individual, we cannot change that. The life guard service rents umbrellas and chairs on the beachfront. We do not. I do not know what other beach amenities would be expected. We maintain our 2 pools, lazy river, kiddie pool and spa. We do have door hangers for no service or privacy and the guest merely had to ask if his was missing. As there are many hanging on doors in the morning, I am surprised he did not notice the others. We have guests that call us and inform us of needs which we take care of immediately. Our housekeepers do go back to units when requested for later service, however their day does end at about 2:30 pm. Anyone refusing service or with a Do Not Disturb sign is documented for the front desk second shift. The housekeeping supervisor does make an attempt to reach these guests by phone before she leaves because many people often forget to remove their Do Not Disturb signs and then come back late in the afternoon and wonder why their room didn't get serviced. As far a knocking on a unit scheduled for check out, that is not our pattern, so unless it was an accident or past check out time, I do not know how this could have happened.
