After searching for a nice seafood restaurant on Tripadvisor that wasn't part of a national chain or buffet, we discovered Sea Captain's House which had a lot of favorable guest reviews within the past week. It obviously is a popular restaurant as we had a 45 minute wait and there was a large crowd upon leaving. The ocean view is fantastic and the restaurant is nicely decorated. Our room had blue walls, window dressings with sea shells and thick vinyl white tablecloths. Upon reviewer recommendations, we tried their She-crab soup and New England Clam Chowder. Both were excellent - creamy but not pasty, with nice tender chunks of seafood. The She-crab soup had a nice swirl of sherry in it when it was delivered. The scallops were divine - perfectly broiled and so tender. The others in my party enjoyed their crab cakes, shrimp with grits and seafood platter. The entrees were mostly in the $17 - $23 range; the soup was $4.95 for a cup, $7.95 for a bowl. The service was friendly, pleasant and efficient. I would definitely recommend this restaurant to a friend!
