Location, Location, Location Myrtle Beach Travel Park is in a Great Location you have the Tanger Outlets, The Mall, Walmart, Resturants & etc. within a mile from the Campground. And your so close to the Ocean you can lie in your camper at night and hear the Ocean Waves crashing. There's no reason to leave the campground, there's the lazy river, pools indoor (heated) and outdoor, arcade, gift shop / grocery store, cafe (the chilli cheese fries are great), breakfast by the sea resturant, a laundry mat, and a calendar with a list of daily activites that are going on. We have been so impressed with the campground that we have been twice in 3 weeks. The shower houses by the ocean are big, roomy, & extra clean. We had a problem with the cable so we called and within 5 min's someone was there to help us.

My family and I (two adults, two children) stayed from Saturday to Saturday, covering the first week of October. Being from the northeast, we were a little worried about the weather this late in the season. It couldn't have been better! The ocean water was warm, the few overcast days were still warm enough to enjoy the beach and best of all, the campground was not crowded at all. This is a transition time, when many long-term renters arrive for their annual October - April escape from winter. The whole place had a relaxed atmosphere to it; staff and long-term renters were very pleasant and sang the praises of this campground. Other reviews say the amenities are great and we would agree with them. Clean bathrooms/showers, fantastic pool and lazy river, etc., but for us, the beach stole the show. The stretch of undeveloped beach basically right beside the campground really makes this place stand out for those wanting a relaxing time. We were happy we chose MBTP and will definitely be back.

My family has been staying at this campground since the 70's when it was known as Holiday Travel Park. We've stayed at a couple of the other campgrounds in the area when we couldn't get a reservation at MBTP and they can't compare. We love this campground. This was a first trip renting one of their RV rental units and couldn't have been more pleased. Very clean and well maintained. The maintenance staff were very helpful when we accidentally locked ourselves out! This is a family campground and there are many great activities for families but our favorite is the lazy river! The only drawback to the rental is the no pets policy. We understanding perfectly, but we just missed having a couple of our dogs with us for morning beach walks and sitting outside the camper in the evening. We would definitely rent again and are looking forward to our trip next September!

Thank you for your review of Myrtle Beach Travel Park. We are so happy that you enjoyed your first time in one of our rental units. Our staff works hard to offer a well rounded vacation for families to enjoy. That lazy river is nice isn't it? We look forward to seeing you again next September!

My family (husband and two sons) spent a long weekend over Labor Day at the Myrtle Beach Travel Park and absolutely enjoyed ourselves. The folks that own/operate this campground are very attentive to the needs of the camper. This is the second time that we have stayed here and we very much enjoy the cleanliness of the campground, especially the bath houses! I could use the shower facility inside our travel trailer but the facilities that the campground offers in the beach area camping sites are top rate! Our kids enjoy the pool area and the lazy river. They have a well-stocked camping store and are located close to restuarants and other stores for the shopping experience. You can't beat this place for some relaxed camping at the beach - you never even have to leave the campground if you don't want to get out into the Myrtle Beach crowds!

We've stayed at MBTP several times over the past few years. We've always found the park clean with excellent pools and restroom/showers. Wifi, cable tv, electrical supply along with water supply have always been good. We've never had an issue with this park until our last stay (aug 25- sept 2).
We have noticed that the cost of staying at this park has continued to rise to a level unacceptable when compared to staying at a hotel along the MB strip etc. For 9 nights during the last week of August and first week of September cost was over $700.00 for a campsite utilizing our own RV. No fall discounts were in effect even though all hotels had implemented their fall rates and discounts. We will be hoteling it next year.
I'm not sure MBTP cares to acknowledge the current economic climate.

My husband and I decided to celebrate our 29th wedding anniversary by taken a mini-vacation Aug. 22nd - Aug. 26th. We hooked up the RV grabbed the great danes and headed to Myrtle Beach Travel Park, in Myrtle Beach South Carolina. We have been to most of the different RV parks at the beach and decided to try a different one. MB Travel Park is very clean, quiet and relaxing. We had a site with an excellent ocean view and we were close to their restaurant called Restaurant by the Sea. Its a small restaurant with good food, good people and reasonable prices. There is also a general store where you can pickup the supplies you forgot or ran out of while there; a small arcade with an ice cream stand; large outdoor pool; lazy river and a small indoor heated pool. The RV sites are very clean and nice size giving you room to spread out and park your car without it hanging out in the road. We had a full hook up site [water, electricity, sewer], there is also internet at each site [we had read reviews that the internet was no good but we had no problems]. There are bathrooms with showers on every couple of rows, the bathrooms are very clean and large and are handicap accessibility. There are no golf carts allowed, unless for handicap reasons, so there no loud groups driving around bothering everyone. It has easy access to the beach with leveled pathways. All in all this RV Park is excellent and I would definitely visit it again and recommend it to my friends.

Room Tip: You can't reserve specific sites but you can request and let them know what site you would like...

I am staying here now and leaving this weekend.I've been here for almost a week and it is excellent. I am staying with a family of 5 in a villa. The villas are a good size and are very clean. Some of the spaces are a bit crammed. But its not bad at all. They have a good sized kitchen and table and living area in the same section, 2 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms, and a pull out couch in the living area. They also have a nice deck outside with a picnick table. My family was able to fit comfortably inside, but if you have more than 5 people it would be pretty crammed. The only downside of the villas is because of the sand road outside, the floor gets a lot of sand so try to get the sand off before you come in. But the rest of the park is also very nice. The pool is big and has a lazy river next to it, a cafe, a snack bar, arcade and indoor pool. They have pool activities. There is also a place to eat breakfast right by the ocean and there is great service and food. The beach is also right there. Overall this was a very nice place and I'm glad my family came here this year.
