We were very dissapointed with this property! The room carpet was very dirty with stains. The tub was very stained also, the floor tiles had a build-up of soap scum...So we requested another room, same problem the only difference the carpet was dark& couldn't see just how nasty it really was. So we ask for a reimbursement.... That's when they put us in The South Hampton Condo. It was a lot better...... Never will go back to this resort again!!!! THE BRIGHTON TOWER

Was here for a business convention at the Hilton but decided to stay at the Lodge for more room with 2 teenagers. In the past, stayed at the Hilton and it has very small rooms that are not maintained well. We were proud to have booked at the Lodge. The main problems that keep it from getting an excellent ratings were:
For the entire plantation, check in was at the Embassy Suites. We waited almost an hour! Even worse, the Hilton Honor line moved the slowest. Even as a Diamond member, did not receive any upgrades or even free breakfast. The Embassy Suites themselves were nice looking but everytime went in there, it was a madhouse with people everywhere. We were glad to get back to our roomy lodge-2 bedrooms and bathrooms.
It is a good 10 minute walk to the Hilton and about 5 minute walk to the beach and waterpark. The resort offers van shuttle service not only around the plantation itself but about a couple mile radius of the area. It did not go down to Barefoot Landing.
The lodge has a screened in porch with a view of the lake but was facing the sun in the mornings and we no fan, was too hot to enjoy a morning cup of coffee. The villas had an open deck or patio. We did have daily maid service but did not leave any coffee. We did have dishwashing liquid and dishtowels. Having a washer and dyer was a nice bonus.

We have been to Myrtle Beach several times and just have not found the right place to stay until now. We liked that the resort had poolside entertainment by two of the public pools. The grounds were kept so nice and clean. We booked from a private owner which made check in process so nice. The owner worked with us to stay a total of 8 nights checking in on a Thursday which made it very convenient for our travel schedule. If you want a great two bedroom unit Oceanfront with a wrap around deck look at VRBO.Com website and see unit 79632 and ask for Frank. What a great guy who accomodated our needs and has a great condo unit on the 16th floor.
The drinks by the pool very expensive over 10.00, so make your own in your room. Like the Bimini's restaurant close to resort and has good local food.
I wanted a massage and onsite at the fitness center they will schedule appts. They had many options to choose from. I had both appts with Bobbi she was great!
The resort was a little higher in price than many others in Myrtle Beach but like they say you get what you pay for.

A bit remiss, given that this was last July 4th (2007), but with the same holiday fast approaching we thought you should know this place is wonderful.
From Philadelphia to North & South Carolina our families came together and stayed in one of Kingston's three bedroom villas. There were a bunch of us and it was a bit tight, but we didn't spend a heck of a lot of time in our villa. Not to say that the villa was small, but when I say a bunch of us I'm actually too embarrassed to say exactly how many :0)
The location was incredible. Just a very short and extremely picturesque walk to the beach.
What we enjoyed most was Kingston's "Splash" waterpark. It had it all and was located right on the beach. And, given that we were all staying at the resort, it was free!
If a picture is worth a thousand words I hope the powers that be will accept some of what we experienced.

Stayed in the villas on the Kingston Plantation property. The villas were very clean and had housekeeping service every day. The rooms are spacious, but do show some wear-and-tear, so don't expect posh accommodations. It's only a short walk to the beach and you have all the comforts of home, including a washer and dryer in the unit. I would suggest doing a little shopping for basics such as dishsoap and laundry soap. Front desk staff in the Embassy Suites are fantastic and will help you with anything you need.

This is a huge resort with many, many condos.
PROs:
1. Spacious and clean
2. Our unit had recently been renovated......new carpet, etc.
3. The price was good................$114 a night (February)
4. Maid service
5. Nice view of the lake; very peaceful

CONs:
1. Our unit was on the 3rd floor, far away from an elevator
2. Parking was across the street. There was a loading/unloading area.
3. No rolling valet carts
4. No extra blankets if you get chilly (there was one on each bed, and one of the blankets had holes in it)
5. Two of the electical outlets in the kitchen didn't work. We didn't take dishwashing liquid and none was provided.

Would we stay there again? Yes, definitely.

This was our third stay at the Kingston Plantation / Embassy Suites complex in Myrtle Beach, this time for five nights. My wife and I stayed in a two bedroom condo in the Brighton Building overlooking the ocean. Our kids occasionally left Grandma's house to stay with us as well. Condo was large with three tv's, DVD player, jacuzzi, well equipped kitchen. The stay included use of a great health club which had an indoor pool, weight room (both free weights and machine), aerobic studio, cardio machines, yoga/pilates, locker rooms, etc. The grounds are kept immaculate with security guards at the entrance. Location is super. Near Restaurant Row, golf courses, beach, and away from the commotion of downtown Myrtle Beach, yet only a 5 minute drive to Carolina Opry, Dixie Stampede, Barefoot Landing (Umberto's is my favorite restaurant in the world) and 10 minute drive to Broadway at the Beach.

Bottom line is that this complex of hotels (Embassy Suites is right there and Hilton is a short walk away) and condos has consistently delivered a great atmosphere, great facilities, and great times in the Myrtle Beach area.
