“Great at the Legends”
Reviewed February 13, 2006

The 8 of us just got back this past weekend from a week at the Legends. The only complaint we had was that the buffet breakfast was very lame and not very hot. Even the coffee was warm. Our resort villas were very nice, cleaned every day and close to the Ailsa pub . This pub was also very nice with the service as excellent as the food. Some of us tried the practice range but we had a cold week therefore practice was not a priority. We played 2 of the 3 Legends courses skiping out on the Parkland course because of rain all morning and we were leaving in the early afternoon to come back home. Also played Fazio,Love and Dye courses at Barefoot, and also Oyster Bay. We warmed up our first day at The Witch.
I would recommend this resort and courses any day. here are some photos.

The Legends is an immense property that has three sound golf courses plus a superb practice facility. We have stayed twice in mid-June and we have been satisfied on both occasions. Our trips consisted of a dozen golfers, so our needs generally include solid golf venues, comfortable, clean rooms, a diverse breakfast offering, and convenience to other golf courses. All of the above are part of the package at Legends.
The three on-site courses are distinctly different with the Heathland proving the fairest and most unique of the lot. June is a tricky season in that airated greens in late May early June tend to be recovering. However, Legends courses seem to get the greens back up to speed swiftly and all three courses have always been in tip-top shape. The staff is very accommodating and there is a sense that everyone wants to retain your business. The Ailsa pub is particularly nice, convenient to the condos and serving quality food. Again, the wait staff was on top of things and made the experience worthy of a return visit.
Positioned on 501, there are over a dozen golf courses within 10 minutes of Legends. The staff at Legends will make all the arrangements with booking and the costs are at their discounted rates. Overall pricing offers good value for golf and rooms. There are other facilities nearby to consider, but this place will provide a golf group with the essentials.

My family and I just returned from a 4 day 3 night stay at Legends Golf Resort in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina. The Resort was lovely. Beautiful scenery, pleasant staff, plenty of room. Our stay was excellent. Looking forward to visiting again soon.

First time visitors to the Legends Golf Resort. My wife and I had a great deal ($119 per night) w/the two bedroom villa (4 double beds), full kitchen, washer & dryer too! Our room was on the end of the bdlg so we had to trek up stairs (walls had visible scuff marks most likely from luggage and golfbags going up and down the stairwell). They give you a place for your golf bags as your going up the stairs which was kind of nice... very quiet area...the group of villas surrounds a neighborhood pub (didn't get there to sample it; seemed to only be open in the evenings); saw 2 of the 3 pools; practically no one to bother you there so that was nice. Complaints? No room service ($10 extra, but they didn't even offer it at check in...I had to ask). Upon arrival we had to ask about the golfing opportunities...come on! this is a golf resort and the only thing the folks at the check in could say is..."don't know, you'll have to check at the clubhouse". I just found that a bit puzzling for a resort that is supposed to be GOLF...oh well, they gave us a map to the villa; we figured...well there ought to be some material in the room on golf rates, green fees, etc., but to our surprise...nothing absolutely nothing but a blank space in their lame excuse for a info handbook...the wife called the clubhouse..."can we get a tee time for 9 holes after 4pm?" she asked. "Nope...last tee time is 210pm and not for 9 holes...$59 per person (only 2 of the courses were even open (This resort prides itself on being a 54 hole course). Well, we enjoyed the quiet...and the wife and I are only golfing beginners so we decided to go down to the Par 3 course (Midway golf ) across from the Myrtle Beach Airport and had a blast! We'd recommend this resort for anyone who wants some peace and quiet that's relatively close to the beach (20-25 minutes w/o traffic problems; 45-50 w/traffic problems...lots of construction currently in the 501 area). We ate at a couple of really nice places: Thorny's (great ribs!) near S. 6th Ave. and Caddyshack (great wings!) at Broadway @ the Beach. This place is nice, but they've got to be more informative and get there checkin personal up to speed on providing some customer service...that's what folks want...well, for $119 a night the weekend before July 4th...we enjoyed it...just make sure if you book this resort...ask all the questions you can think of right off the bat.
