First time visitors to the Legends Golf Resort. My wife and I had a great deal ($119 per night) w/the two bedroom villa (4 double beds), full kitchen, washer & dryer too! Our room was on the end of the bdlg so we had to trek up stairs (walls had visible scuff marks most likely from luggage and golfbags going up and down the stairwell). They give you a place for your golf bags as your going up the stairs which was kind of nice... very quiet area...the group of villas surrounds a neighborhood pub (didn't get there to sample it; seemed to only be open in the evenings); saw 2 of the 3 pools; practically no one to bother you there so that was nice. Complaints? No room service ($10 extra, but they didn't even offer it at check in...I had to ask). Upon arrival we had to ask about the golfing opportunities...come on! this is a golf resort and the only thing the folks at the check in could say is..."don't know, you'll have to check at the clubhouse". I just found that a bit puzzling for a resort that is supposed to be GOLF...oh well, they gave us a map to the villa; we figured...well there ought to be some material in the room on golf rates, green fees, etc., but to our surprise...nothing absolutely nothing but a blank space in their lame excuse for a info handbook...the wife called the clubhouse..."can we get a tee time for 9 holes after 4pm?" she asked. "Nope...last tee time is 210pm and not for 9 holes...$59 per person (only 2 of the courses were even open (This resort prides itself on being a 54 hole course). Well, we enjoyed the quiet...and the wife and I are only golfing beginners so we decided to go down to the Par 3 course (Midway golf ) across from the Myrtle Beach Airport and had a blast! We'd recommend this resort for anyone who wants some peace and quiet that's relatively close to the beach (20-25 minutes w/o traffic problems; 45-50 w/traffic problems...lots of construction currently in the 501 area). We ate at a couple of really nice places: Thorny's (great ribs!) near S. 6th Ave. and Caddyshack (great wings!) at Broadway @ the Beach. This place is nice, but they've got to be more informative and get there checkin personal up to speed on providing some customer service...that's what folks want...well, for $119 a night the weekend before July 4th...we enjoyed it...just make sure if you book this resort...ask all the questions you can think of right off the bat.
