“A great place to stay”

We just got back from spending a week at Sea Watch Resort. Our condo was great and it was furnished with everything that we needed. The balconies were a perfect size and in the South Tower oceanfront, you could see the ocean to the left and to the right. The breakfast was great and was nice that it stayed open until 10:30 am. We had a great vacation and will plan on returning.

We stayed at a 1 bedroom condo in the North Tower. The room and the resort itself was clean but a little dated and not luxurious if that is what you are looking for. The room although clean had dated furniture and amenities and was in need of an update. The pools are large and nice although we found them to be on the cool side. My kids preferred the ocean because it was warmer than the pools. The pool chairs, although there were plenty of them were almost always covered with towels although no one was using them. Overall a nice place but I can't believe it is the nicest place in Myrtle Beach.

I have staying at the Sea Watch Resort every year for at least the last 10 years. I have a friend who has a time share there and she rents me a week. Every year when we go, it gets a little worse. Ever since Marriott took over the Sea Watch Resort, it has defanitely gone downhill. Even the staff is not as friendly as they once were. The last 2 years, the master bed sheets have been dirty, the master bathroon floor has not been moped and it was filthy. Check in time is 4:00 p.m. and it was 4:50 before our room was ready. When traveling with a 3 year old and after riding in the car for 7 hours, you don't want to have to wait on the room past check in time. I had always loved this resort, but it may be time to start looking else where now. No pool activies for children, other than a kiddie pool. Resort needs to be updated as a whole. Hire more staff so the rooms will be ready and clean. Also, if a timeshare owner rents a week to you, you do not get maid service or towel service, which is wrong. They pay the money the same every month for mainteance fees, so maid service should be provided. Maid service used to be provided before Marriott took the resort over. Marriott needs to step back and take a look at the resort. Upgrade and offer more customer satisifaction!!

The Sea Watch was a great hotel for our large extended family to get together. We had two, side by side, 3 bedroom condos in the South tower. You are not getting luxury here, the furniture and kitchen/bathrooms are quite dated. The decor is not high quality but the place was clean and the help very helpful.

The amenities though were great. Lots of pools and hot tubs and the beach was terrific. The balcony views were great, and there were tons of family activities to take part in. Everyone in our group was happy, from the 6 month old to the 70 year old. It was super crowded though, but expected for a July beach vacation.

The location was terrific too, close to Walmart and the outlets, with Barefoot Landing and restaurants close by.

One thing the Sea Watch is missing is internet access in the rooms. Had to lug my laptop to the other building in order to check out restaurants and shows. Overall, I would go back.

My stay at Sea Watch Resort was very comfortable and pleasant. I would recommend this location for anyone who would like a vacation fit for kings/queens. Our room had a wonderful view to the ocean, and the balcony was wonderful. I would like to stay in the North Tower for my next vist, if those accomodations are available.

We rented a three bedroom oceanfront condo. The accommodations were very nice. The view of the balcony was beautiful. All appliances in the unit were in good working condition. The staff was helpful and friendly. We had a wonderful visit.. We would definitely stay here again. This resort is very good for families yet NOT chaotic with kids all over the place. I felt comfortable with my daughter going to the pool by herself. This resort is great if you are looking to hang at the beach or pool. If you are looking for nightlife or dining, you need to leave the resort. There is a small pool bar but no lounge. The resort has a restaurant which is adequate but limited.

After reading many reviews of this resort on TripAdvisor, we decided to book a room for two nights as part of a family trip to the East coast. I wish we had stayed longer! The resort is very nice! Our kids (ages 9 and 11) had a blast in the pools (even though they are a little cold) and the lazy river. The beach was very clean, and although it was crowded, we had plenty of room to swim and collect shells. Our room was spotless, and had a beautiful balcony that overlooked the pools and the ocean. There was free wi-fi, and although it was a little slow it was definitely nice to have.

One of the best things about the Sea Watch are the employees, especially the ones who work outside. We talked to two gentlemen that were working outside in the pool area. They could not have been nicer. One of the guys even gave my husband two shark's teeth to give to our kids. What a thoughtful thing to do! We were so impressed with the employees of the resort, as well as the other people we met in Myrtle Beach.

Next time, we'll stay longer for sure. Also, because our unit had a full-sized kitchen, we'll either bring our own groceries or will go to the store when we get there. I also think it would be more fun to go with another family, although our kids ended up meeting some really nice kids and playing with them. I still can't get over how nice everyone was!

We booked directly through the Sea Watch Resort and will probably do that again when we return.
