“It's a Conference center, no it's a Spa, no it's a Resort”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed August 18, 2014

Well, I have been pretty harsh on Marriott the last 6-12 months, but did they get this one right. It's big & shares the property with Marriott vacation Club properties, but once you work thru the maze and get on site you won't want to leave. We were in for two day conference but wish we could have stayed a week. We had room 606 nice ocean view, two doubles would have preferred King but upgraded beggars cant be picky...The Spa is well situated sorta away from the conf. center and has access to indoor pool and more private upper pool, but you also get huge kids pool with hundreds of lounge chairs in different set up's including SHADE want a concept especially during brutal noon day sun. Kids water slide and hot tub, plus just steps to wonderful beach with chair/umbrella service...it's just perfect including private cabana's and various hammocks call out for you to rest awhile...Good food by pool not badly priced, Caitlyn took such good care we barely left our lounge chairs...A big shout out to Deidra & David in Ocean's 82 Bar, had the most wonderful dinner at the bar..try the Chicken Gran Mere, the only thing better was the view and service. So whether, it's business or pleasure, this Marriott Resort got you covered...It can be pricey, so do your homework.

Room Tip: Ocean front rooms are pretty special if you can afford, nice balconies..

Beautiful location in a less crowded part of Myrtle beach. Pools are clean, fun and spacious. Views of the ocean are lovely. Rooms are very nice, clean and comfortable. Lots to do. We had family members of multiple ages and the hotel was great for all.

I stayed here with my family while attending a conference. We decided to stay here instead of my conference hotel since we are vacation club owners and prefer Marriott properties. The staff was very friendly. The service at the restaurant was always excellent. The outdoor pools are nice but finding a place to sit is always an issue. We found that people would go down to the pool and put out several towels around 7AM(one morning I saw a guy lay out 10 towels on 10 loungers and leave). The staff says they have a policy against this and that staff is instructed to remove these towels but we never saw it enforced. So if you go down to the pool later in the day... Good luck finding a place to put your things! The rooms are nice and housekeeping services are excellent. For a beach resort there should be places to hang wet clothes but hooks and a retractable clothes line you find in the shower were lacking.

Dear nvirpa,

We are so happy to hear you enjoyed your stay here at the Myrtle Beach Marriott. Thank you for your sweet comments regarding the service. Thank you for your feedback regarding the pool seating. During the summer months, it can get very busy on the pool deck and we apologize if this impacted your experience. We are always looking for ways to improve and we appreciate your idea regarding hooks for hanging wet clothes in the room. Thank you for choosing Marriott and we hope to see you again the next time you are in Myrtle Beach.

We stayed last year for 5 nights, and decided this would be an annual trip. This year we stayed for 7 nights, and we are planning to shoot for 10 next summer. I am a platinum member and as such travel close to 200 nights a year, needless to say I see a lot of hotels and deal with a great deal of hotel staff members. Not only is the resort great, and has everything you need, but the staff here helped make our trip spectacular(thank Emily). We will see you all next year!

We stayed here from August 3-7 with our 6 year-old daughter for a family vacation. There was a lot to do and we had a great time. Our room was on the 4th floor and was clean with a nice view. We loved the pools and the beach area. My only complaint was an extremely loud family in the room next to ours. They had a young infant that woke up screaming several times a night and early in the morning. This is not the fault of the hotel - and we didn't ask to be moved. I would definitely recommend the kids activities - especially the Kids in the Kitchen. The chef, Paul, was great with the kids. Kourtney, the girl in charge of the activity was also extremely careful to make sure kids with food allergies were accommodated. Our daughter does not have any allergies - but I was really impressed with how well they handled kids that did. The cookies were delicious and this was just a really fun activity for our daughter - loved this !! The bartenders at the Cove knew my husband and his drink order after about 15 minutes the first day. The accommodations were were great - but the staff here really made the trip. I would definitely go back !!

Room Tip: I would try to get a higher floor - we did get some A/C noise - but nothing awful.

My wife and I stayed at the resort for three days in July for a business trip. The room was a nice size, bed was very comfortable, food and drinks were good but a little pricey, pool area was very nice and the beach was very nice. Very close to shopping and golf.

Room Tip: Get a room on the ocean side!
