“Boring!”
Reviewed June 17, 2013

We were going to do this last year and never got around to it, so we made it a priority to go this year. I wish we hadn't because my kids (6 and 8) were so bored with this place! There weren't too many activities for the kids and what was there was for younger kids. There were no employees around to get the kids engaged in activities and we even heard one say that they were broke! They are also not open on Sundays which would be helpful being in a tourist town.

I am very sorry to hear that your children did not enjoy their visit to CMSC. Typically families with children of all ages birth through 10 years enjoy the activities, exhibits & programs that we offer. The Museum strives to always provide staff available on the floor, and operating as a non-profit organization, we do seek donations to help us improve and grow. The good news, beginning June 30th, the Museum will be open on Sundays from 12-5PM.

“kids had a blast”
Reviewed June 10, 2013

hard to find as the city doesn't let them put a sign out front by the road as they are non profit. shame on myrtle beach! they had rooms of stuff to do. we were there 3 hours but I think they could have played all day. they had a blast and on a rainy day it was a not so busy thing to do. highly recommend it!!

“A hidden gem among Myrtle Beach madness”
Reviewed June 9, 2013

I have two kids under 3 and a rainy day at Litchfield beach was looking rather bleak. We took a chance on this place and were quite impressed. It doesn't look like much from the outside, but it is a God-send for a rainy day. It has activities for very young kids and older kids as well. Your teens would probably get bored quickly, but for my kids, it was perfect. For older kids, check out Ripley's Aquarium or the WonderWorks. This was a really great find!

“Great Experience”
Reviewed May 30, 2013

You will need to either park in the parking lot or parking garage down the street, as you cannot park on the street where the Museum is located. Our boys loved drawing, playing in the pirate ship and the water. The outside area offers a fire truck for them to "pretend" on. We were there over 2 hours and it didn't seem that long at all. HIGHLY recommended!

It is so helpful anytime a review is posted, however I believe that your review is for a different Children's Museum! The Children's Museum of South Carolina is located in Myrtle Beach, with plenty of free parking and unfortunately does not have an outdoor playspace for families.

“Great place for the kids to have fun”
Reviewed May 29, 2013

Our 2 and 6 y/o lived this place. We were there for two hours and thu could have stayed longer. I suggest going early during he middle of the week. Wasn't any crowd to speak of, but I could see if the place was busy how the kids wouldn't enjoy it as much. Really was a nice place for the kids to enjoy themselves with hands on exhibits.
