“Super kingsize bed”
Reviewed November 23, 2011

Nice new bed in disabled room. I am a starwood preferred member. Slept well. Very responsive breakfast staff in restaurant(free with stay). Paramount setup in gym
out of order(this should be a priority). Recumbant bike nice- need heavier dumbells. Whirlpool cold- go in the one at the Bayview- that's the temp it should be- 99-103F.

Room Tip: Close to Broadway at the Beach and Ocean Blvd.

I stayed at this hotel to attend a conference. Since it is connected to the COnvention Center in Myrtle Beach, it is very convenient. The room is a typical hotel room, but it was clean and the bedding was excellent. Very comfortable. The bar is a lot of fun and the on site restaurant has a decent menu. I ordered the steak salad and it was very good. It also very close to Broadway at the Beach which has lots of restaurants, bars and attractions.

Room Tip: Ask for an ocean view. While the hotel is not right on the beach, it is close enough to see the bea...

Modern hotel with nice rooms, but probably not somewhere you take you kids for a beach vacation. The hike to the beach was pretty long (especially when its hot!) and there are a lot of hotels smack on the beach in this area. If you are looking for a reasonable deal and comfortable rooms, however, this may be a good choice.

Good Starwood prefered guest recognition, but as always (and irritating) you have to ASK for an upgrade you should be given automatically.

One large minus was the "so called" club lounge. I say "so called" because the lounge was a major let down. At night they only put out some dip - but no chips. Were we supposed to dip our fingers into the bowl? A tad better at breakfast, but the very cold lounge lady seemed like she wanted us out there as soon as possible.

Good morning jeccho, we appreciate you making us aware of your recent experience with us. We're so glad you enjoyed the nice, modern rooms. We do pride ourselves in being a contemporary hotel. We apologize you experienced some challenges with the club lounge being out of chips & I will be sure our food & beverage manager is aware. Our location is prime, it is only 2 blocks from the ocean & 6 blocks to Broadway, most of our guests enjoy the nice walk. Thanks again & we hope that you have a wonderful week ahead, Juli Pray

When my wife and I went to the Sheraton Myrtle Beach Convention Center, we expected a lot more. Although the room furnishings where nice it was the part that was missing and also the little extra that was too much. I booked this trip for my wife’s birthday, we actually got a steal finding the reservations on Priceline (which I had good experiences with until then). When we checked in I told them it was my wife’s Birthday and they offered for me to stay on the top floor with an ocean view for an additional $40/night. I thought that was a lot so I, asked if I could do $40 for both nights we were staying, the front desk attendant agreed. So the trip started off good. We checked in our room. I noticed access panels in the room were duct taped to the ceiling to stay in place. They used white duct tape to try and blend in but it was very tacky. We had one access panel that was completely missing over the shower(this was kind of sketchy), and a stain on the floor under the toilet. This was okay, we had got a steal on the room so we could just live with this stuff. If I had paid full price I would have definitely asked to transfer rooms then( I feel bad for the people that did pay full price). So that day we went out had a decent time and good dinner. We got suckered into going to a show, only to find out the next morning they tried to get us to sign up for a timeshare. The show was great for a crowd aged 70- 80 years old. We were less than thrilled, but still optimistic. So when we got back to the room we decided to order a pizza, when they called downstairs and said it arrived I got out of bed, and a huge COCKROACH ran across the room. This was DISGUISTING. At this time it was around 1am, so we really couldn’t switch or room. We killed it and put a towel over top of it for the night. I called the front desk first thing in the morning and he said have breakfast on us. I was still pretty upset because the experience was just nasty. We had to go to a presentation that morning so breakfast wasn’t possible. I was actually interested in what the time share(aka presentation) had to offer and possibly would have signed up, but the lady who was working with my wife and I got up and disappeared twice for almost 15 minutes. After leaving the presentation, we decided we just had enough of the Sheraton Myrtle Beach Convention Center and the shenanigans. We wanted to leave. We were refunded for the second night we stayed and were promised 2500 SPG Points to make up for the first night. The SPG points never showed up in our account. FYI, 2500 points wouldn’t cover a stay at the Sheraton it is a Tier III, 2500 is enough for a Tier I.

Needless to say I was disappointed with the entire trip, my wife’s birthday was ruined. Then when I got home and posted a message on the SPG Facebook page, the Sheraton Myrtle Beach Convention Center, commented and basically made it sound like I was cheap for booking through Priceline, I had defamed their name for telling them about my experience, and also that COCKROACHES or as they put it Palmetto bugs are normal in South Carolina. I worked in South Carolina for almost six months last year. I never saw a single cockroach in the hotel I stayed in. I hope no future trip advisor members have the same experience as we did.

I stay at the Sheraton for business on periodic trips to Myrtle Beach, and for the price/value think it is the best value in Myrtle Beach. It's close to downtown and has all the amenities needed for business and a great staff. Highly recommended.

The only downside to this hotel is not being on the beach and you have to upgrade to receive a balcony room. There is nothing else to complain about. Great staff, food and the rooms are very spacious. If you get the chance to stay in a balcony room, do so.

Good morning Rebecca7573, thanks so much for writing us an incredible review! We agree, if we could push our property to the beach we would. The balcony rooms provide a beautiful view of the ocean & the skyline of the strip in Myrtle Beach which is breathtaking at night & early morning sunrise. We hope that when you come back to the area that you will choose us again & be our guest. Have a wonderful week ahead, Juli Pray

This Sheraton looks fairly new and is also a convention center. Yet they have no Wi-Fi in the rooms!? Their restaurant also had very limited hours, so everytime I went looking for food, they were closed. The valet parking is also hit & miss -- sometimes there's someone there, sometimes there wasn't. The rest of the staff was very cordial. The common areas and the rooms were beautiful, but their beds a little too soft.

Good morning Sandrabertelle, thanks so much for your feedback. You'll be happy to know that we are currently working on getting WiFI in our guest rooms, I'm sure you can imagine how big of a project it is. We do offer WiFi in our public areas free of charge. Also, depending on occupancy, our restaurant may have shorter hours, however you can always get food from our bar or in room dining. Thanks again for your review & we hope to have you back soon, Juli Pray
