“Big letdown”
Reviewed August 28, 2010

We usually go to Myrtle Beach ever summer, but this year didn't plan to go until the very last minute. After checking some of the oceanfront resorts that we've stayed at before, they were either very high, didn't have the available dates, or weren't oceanfront, I decided to make reservations at the Holiday Inn. I figured we've stayed at other Holiday Inn's and they were really nice. Not this one. We had an oceanfront "suite" . The only thing that made it a suite was the kitchen. The "living area" sofa was so dirty that we had to put towels down before we sat on it. The bathroom was so small that in order to shut the door, you had to step into the tub to get the door closed. The floor of the shower sounded like it was going to collapse right under you, ever time you moved in it. One of the mornings that my husband was taking a shower, he ran out of hot water--and it was early in the morning (about 6:30 because he's a very early bird). The beds were very uncomfortable. The balcony was decent enough, and they did have flat screens (small ones). The continental breakfast consisted of small bagels and doughnuts!! And the breakfast area was very small. We dealt with all of this since we weren't there but two days, but don't plan to stay there again. We were very disappointed, since like mentioned before, we've stayed at other Holiday Inn's and never had any problems. It seemed to be a quiet hotel (we didn't hear a lot of yelling, running in halls, etc), even though our room was oceanfront, but we could also see the street from our room.

We are the Wales family from PA. Just got home the 21st. from a 6 night stay at the beach. we loved this hotel. Everyone was so nice.and very helpful. The room was neat and clean. The only complaint was the bathroom was small. The pools were very clean and the beach was close to the hotel. I would like to suggest that the hotel make hamburgers and hot dogs just for lunch. nothing fancy just a grill some ketchup and some mustard. The bar was good we all got smoothies one afternoon but it would have been nice to also have a snack. We also liked eating at Pier 14. The food was tastey and they gave you plenty. We will stay here again for sure.

When we first entered the room I knew there was a problem with the air conditioning. The room was very warm. When I called the front desk to complain, a maintance guy was sent up. He checked the ac with a thermometer and said that there in nothing wrong with it. needless to say, I did not sleep well beause it was so hot in the room. (I never have a problem sleeping) The carpet was not vacuumed and the floors were not cleaned for the three days that we were there. The breakfast room is noisy and hot. Contintental breakfast was just ok. On the positive side, the hotel is on the boardwalk and close to many of the attractions. Suggestion: buy sand chairs across the street for $15 if you don't have your own, that way you can put the chairs in the water if you get really hot , Life guards charge $30 for two attached wooden chairs with an umbralla and are collected at 4pm.

I came to the hotel with my family and our stay at the holiday inn was great. The location is very close to alot of the stores in myrtle beach. I also did some fishing at night and caught a few small sharks and croaker. The hotel its self is nice and has a bar and several pools. The room was clean and came with an oven, microwave, and a full size fridge. Our family was also lucky enough to be drawn for a free ride on the owners yacht down through the intercoastal. The boat was extremely nice and it was a great time just to be on it ,not to mention the captain and crew were very helpful and nice.

We just returned from Holidays Inn at Pavilion where we have spent 2 weeks. It is obvious that management of this hotel is very very cheap because:

1. All kitchen appliances are very old.
2. The bed sheets, blankets, pillow cases are so old. Bed sheets much smaller than mattresses and always get off of them.
3. No fresh towels at 1 p.m., No fresh towels at 2 p.m. Are you kidding me? Is it 3 stars hotel?
4. No eggs, yoghurt for breakfast? Only wet, ugly looking bagels and muffins. How about plate size? Anything smaller?
5. No simple ventilation in elevator? Is it 3 stars hotel? Are you kidding me?
6. And yes - cockroach in the bathroom.

If you want to stay close to everything and have a good place to stay, this is the motel. to be in. Only thing we didn't like was not getting in our room til 4;00 Our first day was gone before we got our room. They should only charge for half a day.

This hotel is right on the strip and you won't have to drive to find anything you need. We walked to eat most nights. They have a good staff and keep upgrading the property
