“Beach and Family time - worth it, accommodations - not so much”
Reviewed January 8, 2009

My family and I stayed here for the first time this year. The room faced the ocean in a master, hallway with kitchen and bath, living room (pull out sofa bed) and balcony. I agree with other reviews that there was a tropical theme, but the hotel really did not meet my expectations.

The "Indoor pool" is an outdoor pool with a temporary shelter over it in the winter months. During our stay, the heating element was broken, so the water was cold even with the shelter on.

Not sure where the golf and racquet club was. There was not golf course or tennis courts at the hotel. I just thought it was funny, but most of the hotels along the beach carry the same kind of name.

The entertainment/game room contains antiquated puzzles, games and books. The linen turn-in process was not very clear during our stay - in fact, we ran a little late (15 minutes) on the day of turn in and were told by the staff as much (saying that they would change out the towels just this once).

Lastly, I should mention that since I was not a timeshare property owner at the hotel, I had to deal with three separate phone calls concerning attending a special session about buying into the program. Each time, I told them no (passing up some cash prize in the process), but I have to say that it was frustrating because I was there to enjoy time with my family.

Aside from that, the grounds seemed nice with easy access to the beach. The hotel was located near plenty of night life and daytime activities and the overall the staff was friendly.

I would not recommend the hotel and would encourage you to consider more up to date accommodations along the beach.

My family and I just returned from the Beach House Golf and Racquet Club at Myrtle Beach. All rooms were directly on the ocean. It is located next to some really nice homes and is very quiet. The room we had was recently renovated, very nice tropical colors, granite countertops, new furniture but we slept on the pullout sofa, because of the hardness of the bed in bedroom, The property was a hotel at one time and had been renovated into condos. so it has a hotel room layout. I would highly recommend this property to anyone. We traveled with a 17 month old and the resort had a large grass area near the beach for him to run and play. The resort does have a couple of drawbacks, the rooms have no washer or dryer in unit ,also no DVD players in rooms.

We just returned from a wonderful week at the Beach House.
This was our first time staying there. The area is quiet since it is next to huge homes and the beach was not crowded at all. The building is old but is well maintained (nice furniture, new carpet, nice full size appliances including dishwasher, new granite countertops in kitchen and bath, freshly painted in bright colors). The one bedroom unit is only about 325 square feet which is fine for a small family. Since all the units are ocean front, we especially enjoyed our balcony which had two nice rocking chairs. The grounds were well maintained. We used the fitness room daily which had about 7 new machines, TV, water fountain, and two restrooms. The pool is heated and covered during the winter months. If you are looking for rooms that are spacious, plush, and have high ceilings, then this is not the place for you. However, if you are looking for an affordable and EXTREMELY CLEAN smaller place in a quiet area then you will be pleased with the Beach House.

We stay at the Beach House every year and never had a problem with the room or staff, they have clean rooms and a friendly staff that's always there to help. The location is great it's not right on the main strip, away from the traffic and noise, but not too far if your into the action of the strip. The Beach House is very family oriented not the usual party hotel that is usually around a big summer town. If your a family looking for a peaceful vacation in myrtle beach right on the ocean, then check out the Beach House!

I've Stayed at the Beach House several times and Think it's a fantastic family resort. Right next to this resort is Multi Million dollar Homes. The resort is a Timeshare complex and is well maintianed right on the beach. This area is Quiet and the resort has been well Maintained it has improved greatly over the past three times. The units last year look like they were totally redone with new appliances in the kitchen and all new furniture and carpet-------I enjoy this resort tremendously as well as my wife and Children love.

We've stayed at the Beach House, Unit 302, for the past 5 years. The room has always been very nice, but the care of the grounds has been inconsistent. 1st year was great.

2nd year we went end of June and they decided to reroof the entire building. My husband is a carpenter, so he didn't really want to hear saws and hammers his entire vacation.

3rd year dirty pool, but bearable.

4th year filty pool, no filtration working, state inspectors shut it down.

This year, all was great again. Seems there was a different crew cleaning the grounds every a.m., the pool was great. My only complaint is that there is noone on the premises to enforce the rools -- such as kids swimming at 2am when the pool closed at 10pm, or the guests from across the street cutting through and using our pool.

The only thing i can say good about the place is that (most) of the staff was friendly. Unit is very dark because bedroom is on the end where the beach and sliding doors are.The rest of the unit is in total darkness and they put low wattage light bulbs in to conserve energy i guess. With every light on in the room including the microwave light i still couldnt read a reciepe without going into the bedroom near the door. The countertop laminate was peeling, mold on the rusty old fridge.
Tolet was stopped up the night we got there and half the next day. We were givin a key to the maintaince room to use the bathroom.Only one air condition unit and it was in the bedroom and it was to cold and the rest of the unit did not get cool. Had a fan cut into the wall of the bedroom and living area to cool that and it broke about mid week. also about the middle of the week great amounts of water came rushing out of the exaust fan of the bathroom. Something upstairs over flowed humm i wonder what that was. They mopped it up with towels but didnt use bleach or any cleaner when i asked why it was dark they informed me it was just dirty water.I had to throw a fit to have the lock fixed on the bedroom door, with everything breaking and the maintance men coming in i didnt feel comfortable dressing without a lock on the bedroom door. And not to mention my husband and i had no privacy from our children with that hole and fan that was in the bedroom wall.Several of the other guests and i looked at each others rooms and they all agreed my room 201 was not kept up. and the other rooms had the living rooms closest to the ocean so they had light coming in.So if you stay there dont get an end room.
