“Weather was awful. Hotel was great.”
Reviewed April 27, 2014

We had a great ocean front room with a nice little balcony complete with 2 rocking chairs and a small table. Not that we got to use it because of the weather... The hotel itself was a treat. Huge windows with seating areas looked out over the water, and the staff were to a person friendly and helpful. We found our room to be clean and comfortably furnished. The linens were of really nice quality. The only drawback is the location is a bit far down the beach. We enjoy walking, so it wasn't a problem for us, but if you plan on following our footsteps allow 35-40 minutes to get to the boardwalk. We would definitely stay here again.

We loved the facilities and the staff was great. The room was clean and everything worked. This hotel is perfect for families with kids. Its far enough away from the heart of MB and the bar scene yet close enough to major attractions that you can easily get there.

Having an oceanfront room was absolutely wonderful. Sunrise views if you get up early enough, but you may have to actually walk up to the window to see it. The only minor issue we had with the balcony was that it was like a box with only one view straight ahead. The advantage is that you have compete privacy from your neighbors, but it does block some of the view you could be getting from the right and left side.

The room was light filled, with a pleasing color palette, and felt really good to be inside. Comfortable beds.

The bathroom light was too bright. Better, more subtle lighting would be better. I like how they didn't have cordless phones, which emit electromagnetic radiation. Fridge was making too much noise, so I unplugged it.

We were on the top 14th floor in the North Tower, which others had suggested. It sounds like the best location, but there can be a problem with it. At night, when everything else is quiet, I could hear noises every few seconds, which was a bit disturbing. It was the HVAC system on the roof. There is no 13th floor, so if you want the highest floor in this building guaranteed to eliminate the possibility of HVAC noise, ask for the 12th floor.

There were so many people at the breakfast buffet that there was only one table left to sit. Breakfast had various choices, but it was not good. Juice dispenser was out of apple juice. The imitation scrambled eggs looked very unappetizing, they were watery in parts and not mixed well. Potatoes were edible, although lacking in flavor. We stayed at another Hampton Inn and the breakfast was similar. This is obviously where they cut costs.

We didn't use the pool, but we passed through the indoor pool area each time we walked to the back towards the beach. The chlorine smell was intense. We were in another section of the hotel where I could also smell chlorine. I saw another reviewer said it made her kids sick. If you stay at the hotel and want to swim in the pools, please ask the hotel about this. They should resolve this if enough people demand it, or critique it as I am doing now. Hotels should be more considerate of the health and safety of their guests, and responsible with their use of chemicals.

The hotel lobby and areas throughout are very nice, lots of seating areas, rocking chairs and seating with beach views. Free cookies and coffee in public areas.

In late March, it didn't warm up until the day we left, so we were still dressed like it was Winter until then. If you are planning a vacation outside of peak season, I think April to early May or late Sept to Oct. would be a good choice. This is a very, very busy hotel, and we were surprised how many people were there when it was cold.

Room Tip: 12th Floor in the North Tower, which is a high floor with no HVAC noise that you may get from the to...

Our stay was wonderful. Oceanfront room, great breakfast, steps from the beach. The rooms were clean and felt like home. The lobby and common areas are beautiful and very clean. Would stay here again in heart beat.

I was pleasantly surprised at the quality of this hotel. It felt new. Usually beachfront "family" limited service properties can feel run down and dirty but this one wasn't. I would definitely stay here again.

I stayed for a quick visit over Easter, however it rained most of the trip. Other than the weather, the hotel was pretty nice. The room was clean and well kept. The balcony I had was rather small and enclosed, but oceanfront views. The walls were a little thin, as we heard a child coughing with the croup, and then the next night a baby crying, but the front desk offered to change rooms for us. The staff was friendly and helpful, and the over all place was very nice. The breakfast included was big with a hot choice daily and all the breads and cereals and juices you can eat. Overall very good hotel!

Room Tip: Choose a room with a larger balcony if you like to sit out and watch the ocean.

My family stayed here Easter weekend. My husband is a Diamonds Member. The location is great! The hotel itself is awesome! Shortly after we arrived we got a phone call from Vickie (?) From down front about coming to see her to get our complimentary diamonds member whatever it was. We didn't get it b/c the 2 times we went down there to get it Vickie (?) Was having a loooong personal conversation with another guest. My husband and I stood behind the people she was talking to for about 20 min. She never acknowledged us. I overheard them talking siteseeing and I noticed all voices lowered and the conversation changed and they were discussing death! My husband and I looked at each other and said "Lets come back." We came back down nearly an hour later and the same couple were still there talking to her! We weren't going to stand there and wait again. Thumbs way down for that!!
One thing we frowned upon was that the parking garage floors arent labeled. Coming there the first time, you can get confused of what level your on. We stopped on what we thought was the correct level, my family got out and went in just to see its the wrong floor. We all got back in the car and drove up one more level.
The rooms are nice but need a little TLC. The popcorn ceiling was peeling. Wall paper peeling. Hard water rust stains in the bathroom. Kinda sucks that the flag pole is right in the view of the ocean feom our balcony. Waaaay too much chlorine in the indoor pools. The smell is overpowering and made both my kids sick.
