Really enjoyed my stay here. Loved the oceanfront view. This hotel is clean, comfortable, affordable and the staff is very helpful. Breakfast was great. I love the Myrtle Beach area and this hotel is on the top of my list!

I almost always stay at Hampton Inns when I'm on the road, they just seem to have the most comfortable beds, are usually clean, and I like the breakfast that you get with the room in the morning. While on my way to Orlando, I impulsively decided to stop into either Myrtle Beach or Hilton Head to get some beach time in. My fiance called the Hampton phone number and quickly booked us a suite, which I didn't know they had. Got to the property, it was spotless, *beautiful* lobby area (big), the help staff at the front desk were incredibly helpful and friendly. Good start. We make our way up to room 470 and... wow. Full suite, the usual Hampton cleanliness, and sliding doors to the balcony facing the ocean. For $200. With a lot of pools, including two small lazy river types for floating in tubes and a couple of hot tubs, you simply cannot beat this deal. We loved it so much that we stopped back here again on our way back to New York. I plan on some long weekends back here with my kids next time, it'll be perfect for them. Stuff like this is why I keep using Hampton Inns.

Room Tip: Got the same price on the phone as with Expedia. For only $30 more than a base room, get the suite...

We really enjoyed our oceanfront suite. It was tucked back in a quiet area of the hotel. They had cookies and milk around 4 everyday which was a special touch. The beach was nice and the swimming pools were very clean and inviting. Also the staff was very professional and friendly to us. The small boardwalk was within walking distance and so was the downtown a big plus after driving 8 hours.

Room Tip: Choose an oceanfront you will love the view!

Myrtle Beach has a lot of hotels that have reputations of being dirty, run-down, flea bags. The Hampton is most definitely NOT one of those. Spotless resort, comfy rooms, ocean views from every balcony, and a kind staff that is most helpful. Parking garage is included in the rate, with come-n-go privileges. The breakfast would be the only thing I would not brag about. It was edible, but standard hot breakfast fare (powdered eggs, make-your-own waffles, etc.), though it did not downgrade our wonderful stay in any way. Expect higher prices, though off-season rates are reasonable. You wouldn't regret this choice, which is probably why it's #1 on TA. Enjoy!

Room Tip: All rooms are ocean view, so any choice is great.

Just spent a few days here during the tail end of "Bike Week". The hotel is top rate, with a very pleasant staff, excellent amenities and a quality breakfast bar.
As we had several family getting together for a special event we rentd an oceanfront suite. It was not as large as some suites, but fine for us. The maintenance is excellent. It was great to have the microwave and refrigerator.
Despite the number of motorcycles, there was more than adequate sound-proofing, and, being on th ocean side, the waves at night were very relaxing.
Breakfast is from 0600-1000, and there is plenty of seating, including some outdoor seating. Multiple hot options, as well as cereal, yoghurt, teas, coffee, fruit, etc.
Any downsides - Difficulty with sending e-mails with our iPad and iPhone. Sometimes had to go to the other side of the building to assure it "sent". Understood from front desk this can be a problem. The US and nautical signal flags were getting just a bit tattered, and always want to see our flag in good condition when flown.
Recommendation: Remove the child pool water gun "rifles". The kids pool has plenty of play gear, but two swinging (on swivel) metal water gun rifles could easily hit another child when swung around by an enthusiastic child. One lady by the pool cautioned us about it, saying their kid had to get stitched the day before.
Front desk staff was freindly, and the cookies near check in when we arrived were an added nice touch. The area around the hotel is not all that alluring, but we would definitely stay here again.

We just returned from a weekend visit to Myrtle Beach. Our daughter is in college in the area, so we thought that staying on the beach would be a nice option. Although the college was a quite a ride from the hotel, we did agree that the hotel was worth the trip. We checked in late and the night manager was on hand to greet us. The room was extremely clean and had a very nice clean smell to it. The few was fantastic. When we woke in the morning we joined the crowds at the breakfast buffet. Though there were a huge amount of people, there was plenty of food and lots of choices (waffles, hot/cold cereals, bacon, sausage, breads & pastries, etc). We spent the day by the pools - and my younger daughter had a blast. We counted 9 pools and a few of them were rafting pools - lots of fun. The beach is lovely, however, if you want to rent an umbrella/chairs be prepared to dish out $30. It's not a service of the hotel, rather a vendor on the beach handles the service.

As for the area, it's quite seedy and a bit run down, but we really didn't spend any time on the stirp where the hotel is located. Our advise is to not leave the hotel or beach area. I'd be a bit afraid to walk around on the street side at night.

As for Myrtle Beach, it's jammed with traffic. If you like lots of "touristy" joints and souvenier shops - Myrtle Beach is for you. We did take a few trips off the strip and we really enjoyed the Market Commons and the restaurants there. Stay away from Damon's on the strip - YUK. Looked pretty as it's on the beach, but I could hardly eat the food - and I'm not fussy.

All in all, loved the hotel, the staff, the pools and beach area - but think Myrtle Beach is a bit run down - at least the parts that we saw.

Room Tip: Get an ocean view room -- definately worth the extra $$$.

Needed some R&R with the family and must say that I was please overall with my stay.
The room was tight for three people, two adults and one child, but we made it work. I suggest two rooms if you are traveling with children. The room I stayed in was not large enough for an entire family to stay in plush comfort as one should on vacation, nevertheless my son had a blast in the pools and beach. Breakfast was good and the hotel overall is clean. I would stay again.

Room Tip: Get two rooms if you have kids....
