“Very nice place.”
Reviewed May 4, 2009

The room was great very roomy. It could of been a little cleaner, staff were great. Only problem, they allow pets, so I really won't go back. To far from beach and activities. Breakfast was awesome.

The actual hotel (rooms, lobby, pool) was as expected. The location is a little out of the way from the main Myrtle Beach strip but right next to Hard Rock Park (closed when we visited) and Medieval Times. The breakfast made my days start great. It was a full breakfast buffet of quality foods with main dishes that changed each day. It was simple foods but a far cry from the continental 'breakfasts' I'm used to. Also during the weekdays they provide free wine/beer and a 'snack' that we were able to make into our meal (baked potato with fixings, chili, hotdogs). The staff were very friendly and courteous. With the kitchen in the room and the breakfasts/evening snacks we saved a lot of money on eating out. This hotel earns it's high marks. Great job!

Great extended stay hotel in very quiet are. Excellent location to airport, outlets, downtown and Medieval Times Dinner and Tournament. The hotel is very clean and has a nice courtyard with outdoor pool. The continental breakfast had many options and is better than the average hotel breakfast. The suite was very clean, had 2 televisions and a full kitchen. The beds were very comfortable. Free wireless high speed internet is offered. Staff were very friendly and lobby was very inviting. No complaints, well recommended!

We were an extended family with 4 adults and 3 kids, ages 15, 12 and 8, plus two dogs. We had the 2-bedroom suite, for a total of three beds and one sleep sofa. Now for the specifics...

Front desk - Jennifer booked our stay and we saw her a few times at the front desk during our stay. She couldn't have been nicer or more helpful.

Facility - The hotel itself is very attractive and well kept. The grounds were clean and neat, including the courtyard/outdoor pool area, which had tables and chairs. We had some mild weather and the kids even took a quick dip in the pool. The location was fine. Although it was in a rather quiet area, it was close to Medievel Times, Hard Rock Park and an easy drive to Broadway at the Beach and other shopping.

Suite - The suite was spacious and easily accommodated our large group. We had two bedrooms and two bathrooms, which was very nice. As another guest noted, the carpet could probably use a cleaning, as we did see a stain (maybe we were in the same room that the other guest mentioned?), but everything else was very clean.

We bought food at the Food Lion down the road, intending to stay in for dinner one night, then realized when we returned to the room that there was no oven (there's a fridge, stove top and microwave). Unable to cook the frozen pizza we'd bought for the kids, we called the front desk and they were kind enough to cook the pizza for us downstairs in their kitchen.

Breakfast - The breakfast buffet was above and beyond what you normally see at most hotels. In addition to the usual fare, there were omelets, bacon or sausage, fresh fruit (not just apples and bananas, but cut up melon), waffles and oatmeal (kept warm in a crock pot type of serving crock). Everything we had was very tasty and kept well stocked.

Dog-Friendliness - This was great. I think it's natural to be concerned about the cleanliness of a hotel that allows dogs, but you do not need to be concerned here. There was even a nice area out back for walking your dogs, with clean-up bags and waste bins provided. We had no problems whatsoever with other guests' dogs barking, and we did see a few so we know they were there.

All in all, this was a very nice place to stay, dogs or not. We have stayed in at least three other (not dog friendly) hotels in Myrtle Beach, but this is the one we will come back to, with our without our dogs.

  • Liked — Excellent place to stay for bringing pets. We like to stay in comfortable hotels, and we did not have to compromise in order to bring our dogs on this trip.
  • Disliked — Can't think of a thing.

The free breakfast was absolutely amazing! Hot breakfast buffet along with the hotel's amenities is what made it above average for me. We stayed in the two bedroom unit, which was perfectly set up w/ both rooms being on opposite ends of the living room each having their own bathroom. The only complaint I have is that the carpet seemed pretty stained and dirty and had a musky smell to it when we first got to the room. The rooms were decent but not brand new.

I book my reservations online at priorityclub.com

This hotel is a hotel we stay at at least twice a year. Its a great location and now has the Hard Rock Park right there. Before the Hard Rock Park was built, we would go just for a regular trips to Myrtle beach. Hotel's conveniant to Midevil Times and shopping as well.

Very nice hotel! Breakfast is very popular at Staybridge suites because it is complimentary and has a wide assortment....try the waffles....! The rooms are very conveniant since they have the full kitchen in all rooms (even if you dont use it, its good to have just in case!)

We absolutely love this hotel and will continue to return!

Let me start by saying that I am extra picky and a neat freak, so I know some of you readers will appreciate my feedback. When researching hotels, I stumbled across TripAdvisor and thought long and hard about where my family (which consists of 3 kids) should stay on our trip to Myrtle Beach. I chose Staybridge Suites based on its reviews and the price and my stay was average. The hotel is located across from a vacated outlet mall and next to an old movie theater, both of which are no longer in business (and somewhat of an eyesore). The hotel lobby was well kept, clean, and smelled good. The elevators looked worn as if the brass shiny finish had begun to dull with wear and tear. It was a long walk from the elevator to our 2 bedroom suite and once we entered I wasn't all that thrilled. It had the appearance of being lived in. It was a split floor plan with a living area including a small kitchen situated between both rooms. The window which sort of overlooked the pool was dirty and needed to be cleaned. There were a couple of dents in the walls that I noticed, again showing the wear and tear of the place. Small details like the carpet fraying in some spots close to the walls and a need for caulking around the bathroom sink were also noticed. On the bright side, the complimentary breakfast was nice. They offered an array of fresh fruits, breads, cereals, hot items (like eggs and sausage), and waffles. They also offered an evening meal which we did not attend but consisted of items like soup, hot dogs, and hamburgers. They also offered amenities like complimentary laundry facilities that we appreciated but did not use. My recommendation for someone looking for a place to stay at Myrtle Beach is that the Staybridge Suites is an OKAY place to stay. It could stand to be updated and have those small flaws fixed. If I were to go to Myrtle Beach again, I would pay the extra $50 or so and try another hotel, something more upscale. But for those of you who are not picky about those kind of things, Staybridge Suites is an adequate place for you to stay.
