Owner description: The Marvelous Wonderettes is an off Broadway hit that takes you back to 1958 where you will meet four girls at their Springfield High School Prom with hopes and dreams as big as their crinoline skirts! As we learn about their lives and loves, the girls perform classics from the 50’s and 60’s! You’ll continue the fun after intermission at their 10 year high school reunion! Hilarious and great for families of all ages!

The Marvelous Wonderettes was a great experience for everyone that went. The show is housed in the Starlight room, which is like an intimate show lounge. It is conveniently located in the 2001 Entertainment Complex, which houses two night clubs along with the show. I love how the clubs are accessible to the guests of the show as well! When you walk in, there is someone at the door to greet you & make sure that your entrance is as welcoming and special as possible. There is also a host to bring you to your seats which adds to the warmth of the experience.

The Pre-Show dinner was quite a steal of a deal. For just ten dollars, a guest can get a full blown meal that is quite impressive. The salad, dinner rolls, Swedish meatballs, and scrumptious dessert cake are all very good quality for the price that you pay. The drink selection and prices are also a great deal. This is a great deal for anyone who wants to get the full dinner theater experience.

The show itself is also really wonderful! The talented cast along with the audio & visual effects help to create an atmosphere in which the guest feels as if he/she is in the 50s or 60s. The mixture of comedy and romance are really enchanting. It's quite easy to fall in love with the characters as they portray a story line set during this time period.

I would definitely recommend this experience to anyone who visits the area. It is well worth the time and money. Everyone in my party had a great time, laughed a lot, and just really enjoyed themselves. You will be delighted with the dinner, the show, and the cast. It really is a fun, great quality overall experience.

This is essentially a musical show with an option to buy a pre-set pre-show meal offered in the show venue.
Offered in the same venue as the Dino's TV Variety Show just off Rt 17 between Myrtle and North Myrtle Beach, it appears to be sharing a building with a separate night-club operation, but with both sharing a common entrance. Almost a bit confusing when you first arrive.
Seating, at least the night we were there, felt crowded and cramped. Several folks were seated at what appeared to be long, tablecloth-covered, collapsible tables with folding-chair seating. Our particular table-for-two was barely large enough for our dinner plates and beverage glasses, much less the added salad dishes, silverware, etc. And it seemed to be almost an after-thought, located at the intersection of two between-table aisles in such a way that members of other parties had to squeeze past on their way to their own tables. More than once we found ourselves reaching for a beverage glass just to hold onto it so it wasn't tipped over by a passing sleeve, coat pocket or purse. Ironically, several of the high-top tables just across the aisle from our table weren't even set with napkins and silverware for that evening's show -- although they would have been larger and far more comfortable than being in the middle of traffic all evening.
The show itself is a fun performance featuring four female singers re-creating the music of the late 1950's and early 1960's. They sing it well along the course of a storyline that, while a bit contrived at times, fits their purpose well. We found ourselves singing along on more than one occasion.
The pre-show dinner offering was disappointing at best -- even at just ten dollars per person. In their defense, they do explain the menu and the fact that it's served buffet-style when you make your reservations. But even then, the actual delivery of the product is not what you'd expect. Individual so-so salads are already at your seat when you arrive, with a single choice of dressing also already on the table, making us wonder just a bit how long they've been there. The entree is described as Swedish Meatballs over noodles during your phone conversation, creating a certain vision of expectation. What they appear to be in fact are simply supermarket refrigerator-case meatballs in brown gravy served from a crock-pot and poured over a package of supermarket pre-made, refrigerated noodles reheated in a warming tray. These are accompanied by obviously supermarket bought-in-bulk dinner rolls and what appeared to be pieces of supermarket-bought frosted sheet cake for dessert. Any beverages beyond water come only at an extra charge and if you have coffee with your meal, it comes in a paper cup. Granted, the ten-dollars-per-person cost should have been a tip-off, but overall the meal was a total disappointment.
We definitely would go back for the two-hour show again -- but would also skip the pre-show "dinner", even if getting there in time meant having to settle for a trip through a fast-food drive-through instead.

Cute show--talented singers. Retro back to the 50's. They serve a little simple dinner right before the show--nothing elaborate--but good.

The first impression patrons have here is that the area outside the venue could stand some real scrutiny and upgrading. Inside, it is a different story. The proximity of diners to the stage automatically creates intimacy. The salad and meatball over noodles dinner was adequate. The cost of the dinner, when included with the show, is a bargain. The meal will not please everyone. As the welcome announcement for Springfield High School's 1958 Senior Prom is made the house lights come down, the curtain opens and out spring Betty Jean, Cindy Lou, Missy and Suzy. Sit back, enjoy the sounds of the girl groups of the fifties and sixties as these four songtresses let you savor moments from your past. From the opening notes of Mr. Sandman to the final notes of Thank You and Goodnight/Sincerely, this high energy show will have you feeling like a true Chipmunk alum!

I had no idea what to expect, but my husband and I were totally enthralled by a great performance by four very talented young women. I have performed in a lot of amateur productions in my hometown, and I have seen many other amateur as well as professional productions, but this was no amateur show. It was well worth the time and money, and I would recommend it in a heartbeat.
