We are currently spending the Christmas Holidays in the Myrtle Beach area and, after happily discovering that they were open on Christmas Day, and after reading 14 superlative reviews, we decided to try the Toscana Italian Bistro. As indicated, it certainly lived up to our expectations, based on said reviews. We have been looking for a reasonably priced, authentic Italian Restaurant in the area and are extremely pleased to have found this one. My husband is of Italian heritage and is pretty particular when it comes to Italian cuisine. He, too, was impressed with the dishes we ordered. To start with, we were served the most delicious loaf of Italian bread that I ever remember having in a restaurant. Most crusts are too hard for our tastes and present a challenge when trying to bite into them. This bread was served warm, the crust was lightly crisp, and well-seasoned, and the interior was soft and succulent. We ate it all before our meal arrived and were readily granted a fresh one. I ordered the "Crab Stuffed Chicken" which was served in a light lemon sauce with artichokes, over house-made Parpadella, which was delectable. They certainly did not skimp on the stuffing, either, or on the crabmeat which was plentiful. My husband ordered "Lobster Ravioli" which was also delicious. The entrees are also accompanied by either the "Soup du Jour" or a small salad. We had one of each, respectively, and they were both very good. I splurged on a" Lemoncello cake" for dessert which was extremely light and delicious as well. Even their coffee, which I ordered after dinner, was exceptional. The restaurant is small but cozy, the atmosphere is quaint and charmingly Italian and the servers were very friendly and efficient. They also accepted reservations, so we were able to get a preferred booth before others were seated in sections that we would not have preferred.
