Owners have done a wonderful job with this unit. The kitchen is lovely and the general look is very nice. We loved the location and the management company were very easy to work with. However, for the money we paid for this unit we were appalled at the condition upon arrival. We spent almost 2 hrs trying to clean before we would even unload the car. The dirt and dust on the crown moldings and baseboards was horrible. The flat screen televisions were covered in dust. The master bedroom had heavy dust on the walls that looked like it was ready to blow off. We had to vacuum the wall using the sweeper attachment. The floors were covered in food crumbs and hair. There is no way any sweeping or mopping of any kind had been done in quite some time. The bathrooms were equally as bad. The floors were covered in hair and black mold covered both showers. We had to bleach them and scrub before we could use. We considered coming back to the management company to have it cleaned properly, but after 10 hrs in the car with our children, another delay was not an option so we cleaned it ourselves. It is by far the dirtiest unit we have rented in our 7 years at Myrtle. I am sure the owners would have been horrified to see what their hard work in keeping this unit up to date looked like.
The parking was not great. We never were able to park in the lot. We were only ever able to park across the street. The room was nice but had a lack of basic kitchen items. The lights and fans never seemed to work properly and the master bathroom's door was a closet swing door and not a regular door so it made it hard to move around it and there was no lock. We love Myrtle Beach and we loved having a room right on the beach but we would not recommend this specific unit but we liked the Place at The Beach V as a whole.
We arrived at our condo with dirty sheets and towels on the kitchen floor, food scraps in the sink, make-up and hair on the floors in the bathroom, a lot of dust on the ceiling fan in the living room (we cleaned it off before turning it on), dust on the tables in the living room, dust and hair on the bed frame in the masterbedroom, someones underwear under the rug in the master bedroom, light and fan didn't work in the guest bedroom, towel holder in bathroom was on the counter, rusty dirty cookie sheet was in the oven. After a 12 hr drive we were unable to use the bathroom due to no toilet paper. Did not receive the amenities bag.........very unhappy about this. We cleaned all plates, cups and utensils before use.....food left on items in cabinets. Didn't even have a pot holder for the oven. Was promised dinner at California Pizza with $50 game card and after a lot of on hold time and 3 different calls we ended up with a speciality pizza only and a bill for $18.00 in drinks and another pizza. Management company tried but seemed very disorganized.
This is our third year in a row for a spring trip to MB, using Myrtle Beach Vacation Rentals and staying in APTB V A. We get very personal service. The people there often recognize us. This is a trip to look forward to over the long winter.
This is our 2nd year spending the winter in this condo-it was terrific and we highly recommend it.
The representatives with "a place at the beach" were professional and helpful. My packet and keys were ready upon arrival. I had a wrong sized sheets in the condo; gave them a call and they delivered the correct size in less than 10 minutes. I was looking for directions and discount coupons; the representatives at the counter were very helpful. The office is in a great location, minutes from the condo and in the same plaza as Kroger supermarket for convience.
All major events and activities were within a 10 minute drive or less.
The pool and beach areas were kept clean and patroled, nice to relax.
The condo I rented had all the conviences needed.
All went well, highly recommended.
