When we booked our weekend stay at this hotel we should have been suspicious when the associate acted surprised that we would not have a dog with us. Needless to say with a hotel so welcoming of dogs it sounded like a kennel. It was if every room contained a yippy dog that could be heard often. Don't get me wrong, I love dogs. Just not in the hotel I am staying at. If you are into traveling with your animal though this would be the place for you. The hotel is going through remodeling and our room was redone and was fine, but I simply did not like the atmosphere. My husband and I laughed it off as an adventure but vowed never to stay in a very dog-friendly hotel again.

This is the absolute worst hotel I have ever stayed in. The front desk staff was very friendly, but that was the only positive part. The room was dirty, the walls had holes in them, and the entire hotel just stinks (literally......it has a stench). Housekeeping did not even come into my rom until well after 5 P.M. and even skipped my room one day! A little research revealed numerous other, nicer hotels in the same price range.

Don't even bother going any further with booking this hotel. Although the staff was friendly the place was a house of horrors. The filth in the elevators was just a prelude to what we would find in the room. The entire hotel ( halls and room ) had a certain stench. Upon entering the room we weren't surprised (after the trip up to the room) to find that it was in extreme disrepair. There was what looked like fecal matter smeared on the bathroom door as well as the headboard and boxsprings. Near the floor in the bathroom the door frame was completely rusted out - and the "walls" were bubbling up everywhere. The "four blocks" to the beach looked more like four miles! Needless to say - our experience wasn't a good one. We found a place on the beach called the Polynesian and although the elevators were dirty and old as were the hallways, the room was quite nice and equipped with a kitchen and had an ocean view. This was only $10 more than the Red Roof. Hope this helps someone!!
Thanks!

My husband, 3 year old daughter and I stayed at the Red Roof Inn in Myrtle Beach on October 28 and November 6. We were flying out of Myrtle Beach to go on vacation and had made the reservations for both times, leaving and coming back to Myrtle Beach. The staff at the Red Roof Inn were very professional and very friendly. The outside of the building looks really nice. The inside, however, is a different story. The rooms are in serious need of new paint, new carpet. The mattresses need replaced. The blankets were even worse, they felt like they were made of burlap. I hate to give such a negative review, but Red Roof Inn has a reputation for nice rooms, and this particular one does not speak well of that reputation. I hope the CEO of Red Roof Inns reads this and makes some major changes for this and most likely for many of the Red Roof Inns.

Our first trip to the Red Roof in Myrtle Beach was a perfect one. It is true the motel is not new, but the staff more than makes up with what the have to work with. My reservations were handled by GSR named Gary, who was just as friendly in person, as he was making our reservations. He made our children feel special, and even made over our dog. Emily and Nancy were especially helpful also. Nancy has the greatest southern accent I have ever heard. Our room was not quite ready when we arrived, but the wait was not terrible, and well worth the wait. Brenda, our housekeeper was the friendliest person we have met in a long time. Considering the amount of rooms the staff cleans daily, (usually between 25-30 rooms daily, jus the fact that they have the energy to speak at all is amazing ,
but their personalities and abundance of energies, led us to believe that they all care about the motel and their job. The manager was out of town at the time, but you would never have know that as the entire staff
handled everything and ran things as smooth as possible. The price was great, the staff took time, to treat me as a human, and to me that means more than any..thing.. we had a great clean room, friendly staff, and we will continually reurn again.

Get to the beach....quick! Ill b back, hope to see szzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz

HORRIBLE Hotel! Due to Pets Allowed Policy hotel is in shambles. Horrible Odor in one room and switching to another the smell was still present. There were strange stains on carpet bed and armchairs. Road to beach is a little shady. On the whole, an otherwise great Myrtle Beach vacation was dampened due to this terrible hotel.
