“Winners and losers”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed August 26, 2013

This was not our first time at Captain Georges, in fact we have been dozens of times over the years and there is one simple, undeniable truth about this place...Some of the dishes are going to be winners, and some losers! I find this is typical of buffets in general, but when paying around thirty bucks for a buffet it can be quite annoying. The reason I give it 4 stars is because it is seafood, so even if there was only one exceptional dish (and there are many) it would be comparable to a sit-down seafood restaurant where they charge $20-$30 for a single entree! So don't be a hater, if there are a few things on the buffet you don't like....skip them and enjoy the over all experience, which includes great service and a fun atmosphere.

“Great Buffet, Friendly, Professional Staff”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed August 25, 2013

I ate with my 8 year old son, my sister and two young teen nephews during our recent stay in Myrtle Beach. There was a wait to be seated, but it is handled well, with benches to sit. We really didn't wait longer than 20 minutes for our party of five. Once we were seated, our waiter took our drink order promptly. We then proceeded to the seafood nirvana! Just let me say, the crab legs were AWESOME! Hot, fresh, salty and sweet. Very meaty and done perfectly. I also loved the corn bread muffins! Our waiter says they serve 2500 lbs of crabs legs a day. That's 1/2 of a tractor trailer! Worth every penny!

“If you like seafood you will love Captain George's”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed August 24, 2013

We have dined here several times over the years when traveling to Myrtle Beach. Sometimes we've loved it, and other times not so much. This time we thought the food items we chose of the many offered were very good. We try to take the items we can't easily get at other seafood restaurants due to cost such as the crab legs, steamed clams, she crab soup. Everything we tasted was cooked just right and we enjoyed every bite. Yes, it is a costly meal and if someone doesn't eat the higher value items, it may not be worthwhile going to this kind of buffet. Going early or on Sunday will save some $$ and the food is just as good. One thing we didn't enjoy was the Baklava- way too much spice was used! Flan is one of the best desserts offered.

“Favorite buffet in Myrtle”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed August 24, 2013

All of the food was excellent and surprisingly very hot. I liked that they had all condiments available on the buffet: lemon, tartar sauce, cocktail sauce, melted butter. Even though it was really crowded, the buffet was stocked/maintained well. My favorites were the salad bar, dinner rolls (SO GOOD), tilapia, fried seafood (shrimp/clams/hush puppies) and of course the crab legs! Price is a little high ($33 per person not including drinks/tip), but it is our favorite buffet in Myrtle and we will definitely return!

“EXCELLENTE!!!!!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed August 23, 2013

Dining at Capt. George's was a terrific experience. We were there during a peak time. However, the service was always great. The food was delicious and the staff were pleasant and helpful. This really made a difference in our visit. We were so impressed that this restaurant will always be on our agenda when we are in Myrtle Beach.
