Not good at all! Dirty sheets, poorly constructed building with stains absolutely everywhere... I couldn't imagine a worse hotel. I will say customer service was fair.... Only stayed one night and had it been more I would have definitely switched hotels...

Staying at St.John's was not my cup of tea.. was disappointed. elevator doors open before it stopped at floor. pool wasn't clean. The bathroom door was cracked but that was the only thing in that apartment that was remotely bad! We went during the last week of August when the sales just begin to start in Myrtle Beach. Labor day weekend is not the time to go.

Room Tip: ocean front is way better

My family of five vacation in MB quite often, so we tend to be very critical of our accommodations. On this trip, which we didn't plan six months in advance, we decided to save a little money and stay at St. Jonh's Inn, and we were very pleased.

The Inn is owned by the Caravelle Resort, so if you stay at St. John's you have access to use all resort amenities, which includes the water playground and pool at the main Caravelle building. However, here is what's nice about SJI ... the pool at St. John's is calmer, cleaner, and quieter!! Our kids, who aren't the biggest beach goers, love to hang out by the pool. St. John's pool area is perfect for letting kids play and parents watching (sunbathing, if you!). Also, patio area provides tables and umbrellas for those family members who aren't fond of always being in the sun. Just a perfect blend of spaces.

Now that said, don't expect much from the room. It's a place to shower up after being outside all day, and a place to put your head. You must realize that rooms at the beach take a lot of beating, in general. You're at the beach...how much time do you really spend in your room. Room comes with middle size.fridge, microwave, coffee pot, and toaster. Our room had a few dishes and utensils, a bonus.

Overall, we would stay here again! Not a five star place, but there's enough here for the price that makes SJI (with the use of the Caravelle resort) worth it!!

the front desk attendants were hospitable, the property was rather clean and had a homey feel to it. its an older property, so there's some wear and tear, but you go to the beach to be out and about, so as long as it was clean, we didn't care. my only real complaint was that the plumbing was really loud, and we could hear the toilet flush and shower run all day and night from the next room. st. johns pool was spacious and quiet, which was a nice change of pace from the caravelle's pool which was a zoo of screaming children.

by staying at st. johns you get to eat at the caravelle's restaurant for free, which had odd hours, so we transferred our free meal to the pool clubhouse. the pizza was gross, the teenage girl behind the counter was figuratively out to lunch, and the normal cost of the pizza would have been upwards of $15...for greasy cheese and stale bread.

older hotel across the street from beach. 10 ft. deep pool, which is rare these days to find and very spacious pool lounging area was nice too. room balcony spacious as well. room was fine for us and all caravelle amenities available to use. just a money saver by being across the street. microwave/fridge/coffee maker included. one oddity was i noticed they did not restock coffee after making room the next day and i was told that coffee provided for your first night stay only.

We came into town a night early and needed a place to stay so we thought we would stay here. Oh my a big mistake!! The room we stayed in was very outdated and wore out!! The beds where broke down wall paper was peeling off the walls. Had that 80's look and smell. We was on the 2nd floor and the guest above us woke us up around midnight screaming and cursing this went on for at least 2 hours. Parking lot not needs more lighting. Didnt really feel safe!! The outside looked clean. The people at the front desk was nice I can say that. We went swimming at the caravelle which is across the street the pools wasn't very clean and was cold for June so we tried the 7th floor pool. The smell of chlOrine was so strong it was burning our nose ad eyes. So after all this I would not stay here again.m

We recently stayed at St Johns inn, which is a property of The Caravelle Resort. Our room was a basic hotel room but had a small kitchenette which with two kids proved to be great! The room was very clean and had been newly renovated. The pool was AWESOME> very very clean and the kids loved it! We will visit again! it was great for the value!

Room Tip: the bottom floor rooms are great because they open up into the pool area! you can literally walk out...
