“Good hotel, no problems”
Reviewed August 24, 2013

Stayed here for 3 nights while at a conference on the beach. Room was fine with microwave & mini-fridge. Room was cleaned early as I was back in the room after luncheon to work. Decent fitness room with weights, also had indoor pool and whirlpool. Front desk staff was knowledgable of local area. Very close to Barefoot Landing, as I my group had a river cruise there and I was a lot closer than the conference hotel and didn't have to take the chartered bus. All in all, I had no complaints and would stay here again.

This hotel is great for many reasons. No, it is not on the beach but everything else about this hotel is very goos. . It has been fully updated with the new Bistro that courtyard is offering. Rooms were clean and the staff very helpful. This hotel is good for the business traveler as well. The lobby is large with many tables to sit and relax after a long days work.

We were in North Myrtle Beach recently for a family reunion and, as we often do, all of the families stayed at the same hotel. Typically, we end up congregating in someone's room, but not at this hotel. The lobby is spacious and comfortable and each night we gathered there before or after dinner to chat and enjoy each other's company. I thanked the desk clerk for putting up with us the last night -- we ordered pizza and ate together there. He said no problem, that's what the space is there for! The area is so large that several groups were able to enjoy it. The staff was friendly and accommodating with restaurant recommendations and directions. I see references to timeshare sellers in the other reviews. There were none there the three days we were there, and we used the computers on the tables in the lobby to research restaurants and get directions.

We stayed in a king suite and I don't think I've ever had a larger, more comfortable hotel room. It was nicely laid out, with a completely separate living room. Through a door, there were sinks and then the rest of the bathroom inside another door. The bedroom was separated from the sink area by a partition wall. There were even two nightstands! I didn't smell any mustiness or see any of the mess that other commenters noted. Everything was nice.

The rate is a bit pricey and it includes only coffee in your room -- no breakfast or complementary anything. You can purchase drinks (soft and "hard") and food in the "bistro" area. Or you can bring in food or drinks from outside and enjoy it there. There is also a little food pantry and microwave in the lobby. The housekeeping staff seems oddly stingy with cups, though!

Lots of restaurants are nearby, including two in adjacent parking lots. The road is busy! If you want to turn left out of the parking lot most of the day.... you can't. The beach is not far and nice.

All in all, this was a good choice for our purposes and we enjoyed our stay. Thanks!

Room Tip: The king suite is very nice, but there are only a few of them so reserve early if you want one. This...

On arrival to a busy hotel on a busy highway, the lobby was welcoming and clean. The front desk was also pleasant. However, this is the only positive... the only way to access the hotel and anything locally (even Barefoot Landing) is to drive. The room, corridor, elevator smelled like mold and mildew. There was a stain on the wall behind the door, an empty water bottle on the floor and a cup of water. The toilet tissue had also been used after the room was "cleaned". The bed wasn't particularly comfortable and if you sat on the edge to put socks on, the bed tipped. The furniture was damaged and the TV remote barely worked. All in all... terrible.

Stayed for one night. Location is good - with ease of access to highway, shopping, airport, etc.

Checked in and lobby was nice. They had a time share sales desk in the lobby. Never a good sign. Staff was very pleasant throughout the stay. (Maids in hallway always said hello - that's always a sure tell to me that they are a customer friendly property.)

That being said - as others have posted - the room smelled musty. Mildew in the shower. Stained carpet, stains on the walls. Luckily did not see bugs or I would have been out of there!

Bedding was a bit worn as were the towels.

Not up to the Courtyard standard. Could be a Fairfield Inn. Definitely not Courtyard. Pains me to say this as a lifetime Marriott Rewards Platinum, but would not stay here again or recommend the hotel until they renovate.

we stayed there for three nights, upon arrival the room smelled bad bad mold, furniture worn out, roaches in room on 3rd and 4th floor bed was comfortable, when u stay at bigger hotels you pay for their name only nothing is provided, i mean nothing!!!!!!!!!! for over $200.00 per night and all u get is in room coffee. No basic breakfast, juice or even tea bags. U buy ur own juice and tea bags. Better to stay at one of the lower brands which provides breakfast, better price and lot cleaner rooms. after staying at this hotel I think people need to appreciate lower brands.

Room Tip: go to other hotel

The hotel was very clean and rooms had been updated. There had been a recent remodel of the lobby and it is very nice for a hotel in this price range. There was a nice café with a Starbucks in the lobby but also a Fuddruckers within the same parking area so places to eating was not a problem! This is not a hotel for beach lovers. It is on the main highway into North Myrtle Beach so a BUSY Road in front of the hotel. This is for business or just a clean, nice place to stay if you are playing golf in the area and don't want to pay the premium prices of staying on some of the resorts. 1/2 mile to Barefoot Landing. Very nice people and easy check-in and out.
