“Best in Myrtle Beach!”
Reviewed July 21, 2007

Wow what a wonderful resort. Sheration Broadway is a top notch resort/hotel with a great location. The resort grounds are beautiful.
The villas a spread out nicely with ample parking. This is a big advantage because parking in those tight parking garages of the oceanfront resorts is a nightmare. Enjoyed the quiet tranquility of the Sheraton. Some people may not like the fact that it isn't right on the beach, but we enjoyed this. Its away from all the hustle and bussle of Ocean Boulevard. The beach is only a couple minutes away and MB has several public beach access locations so finding a spot on the beach is very easy. The resort is ALOT better than any other of the oceanfront resorts in MB that ive stayed in the past. The rooms are large and well maintained and every room overlooks a pond.
There is currently contruction on a few additionally buildings so cant wait to return when everything is done. The pool and lazy river are nice with plenty of chairs. THe only thing i didn't like was the depth of the pool. It was only 3 to 4 feet deep which is nice for kids but not adults. Hopefully they'll build an deeper adult pool at some time. The location is absolutely perfect. A few minutes away from Broadway at the Beach and several other restaurants and attractions. Broadway at the Beach is nice but i believe the restaurants are a little overated. Bonefish Grill was a excellent place to eat and will definately be back. Myrtle beach is a great destination and is only getting better. Several new additions are in the works including the new Hard Rock Theme Park on US501. Overall, Sheraton Broadway Plantation and MB couldn't have been any better.

A great resort, very convenient location, close to Broadway at the Beach where there are lots of restaurants, shopping, shows, etc. Nice pools, clean room, friendly staff. We will definitely return.

We stayed at the SBP from June 24 '07 - July 1 '07. We lew from LGA in NY on Spirit Airlines and had a great flight going and coming home. Both times were on time and even a little earlier than scheduled. We stayed in a 2-BR Lockoff with 7 people (2-A, 5-children). We are members of the Starwood Vacation Ownership Program. Our stay was fantastic. The kids had a great time. They took part in many of the daily activities while we were at the resort and not off seeing the many attractions in Myrtle Beach. The pools are very nice with plenty of chairs all over the pool deck. The lazy river is a very nice touch and both parents and children enjoy it very much. Our kids also spent a lot of time in the indoor pool playing water volleyball. The pools open at 7am and close at 11pm. Pools were very clean and pool area was kept very clean. Snack bar at pool was great with very friendly staff. Excellent drinks, snacks, sandwiches, burritos, hot dogs, etc. are served here, along with breakfast items. All are very reasonably priced. Ice cold beer and other drinks are served here to. You can pay with cash or have everything charged back to your room. They can open a tab for you which is very convenient. The grounds were nicely landscaped and easily navigated to get from your room to all of the facilites. Plenty of parking. We stayed in rooms 1110 & 1111 which were in a great location. A short walk across the parking area along the lake and you were at the pool area. Mini golf was also here and also a lot of fun. Rooms were clean, bright & very comfortable. We heard very little noise from outside or from above. The resort is close by to everything. A 5 - 10 minute drive to beach (beach was beautiful with easy access), a 3 minute ride to Broadway at the Beach (I recommend spending time here), 15 minutes from Dixie Stampede, and plenty of restaurants close by. Airport is only about 10 - 15 minutes away and very easy to get to and from. We would definitely stay here again. It was not a huge resort, but never felt over crowded and you always knew where the kids were. They are expanding, building more buildings, but hardly knew it was even going on. We certainly want to try other resorts in the program (as we have done 3 others already), however, if we cannot get into the others when we want to travel, I wouldn't hesitate in going back to SBP in Myrtle Beach.

We are Starwood owners, so we stayed in a one bedroom "lockoff." The room was nice and clean. We had a handicap-accessible room, so I'm sure the layout was somewhat modified from other rooms, but it was spacious enough for 5 adults to stay (obviously, it was a tight squeeze.) It had a pullout couch, and we rented a cot.

They were building a number of new units nearby, and the noise was terrible. It started early (before 8), and included checking that the fire alarms worked. Also, the unit in which we stayed was located in the building that had the model, so there was an endless stream of people looking at the building, starting everyday at 8:30 a.m. We mentioned the noise issue to several people, but no one even offered to move us. Still, the noise did not ruin our vacation, though it did cut down on our sleep quite a bit.

The pool and lazy river were nice. The bar area was OK, and there was a sizable kiddie pool. Lots of activities for everyone, including mini golf on property.

There is no restaurant on the property itself, though there are many within a mile (walking distance to Broadway at the Beach, if you don't mind the heat). The beach is about the same distance. We walked it once, but the heat had us driving on other occasions.

There were no kids in our party, but clearly, this property is better suited for families. As a group of adults, we probably won't return. We left feeling we had a very average experience.

  • Liked — Conveniently located, close to beach and other attractions.
  • Disliked — Noise issues.

I stayed in room 326 in Bldg 3 from 6/8 thru 6/12, and let me just say that it was impossible to get any sleep in that room. The walls are paper thin. When I complained to the Sheraton / Starwood employee, he said that they had put us in the 'old' section (Bldg 1-4) and that those buildings were made of 'wood' not 'concrete'. I guess paper comes from wood, so 'some' truth into what he was saying. He said that 'if' were were an 'owner' we would have been placed in one of the new 'concrete' buildings -- where the rooms were soundproof. Hmmmm.. my house is made of 'wood' and it is nowhere near as noisy as this place.

Smug clerks, rude cleaning people, and downright pushy sales people. Never again. Be forewarned.

Please feel free to contact me if you need proof of my stay or would like more info.

  • Liked — The security gate, I guess. That was nice.
  • Disliked — Unable to sleep in room due to noise. It wasn't the otther tenant's fault. Property is substandard.

Although we have been to Myrtle Beach several times, this is the first time we've stayed at this resort. I have to say, I have absolutely no complaints! Love the gated entrance. We stayed in building #16, fourth floor in #1640. There are only 17 buildings with #18 currently under construction (we were only one building away and did not hear much of the construction noise). Great view of the lagoon with a water fountain. We could also see the fireworks set of at Broadway at the Beach on Tuesday night. The two bedroom/two bathroom unit was very spacious and very, very clean (a big pet peeve of mine). The unit had an apartment washer/dryer (up/down), would have liked a full size for all the beach towels, but I can't complain. The kitchen was very well equipped with nice/heavy dishes, plenty of silverware, glasses and cookware. The family room and dining room were well decorated and comfortable with a screened in balcony that could be accessed from the master bedroom also. It contained a television, dvd/vcr player, and a stereo. The master had a very comfortable (I'm very picky about beds) king size bed with a television and jacuzzi (although we didn't get a chance to use it). The second bedroom had to full size beds, a tv, and access to the second bathroom (this room was on the small side (not much room between the beds or the between the beds and the closet/dresser).

There is only one large pool area with a lazy river (and an indoor pool - nice touch) and that is located behind the main building where you check in. It was very clean and attractive and an easy walk from any building. There is no restaurant on site (not really necessary), but there is a pool bar/snack bar where you can get munchies (such as ice cream, hot dogs, sodas, as well as alcholic beverages).

The location can't be beat. It is right down the street from Broadway at the Beach and has easy access to everywhere (including the beach). There is a Bi-Lo supermarket left on 39th avenue right around the corner. There were fresh vegetable stands all over, and the produce was great! There's a Walmart with in a few miles. We went to the Nascar Speedpark and had a nice time. If you go, purchase the $30 all day wristbands as an adult ride takes three tickets at $3.00 each. This will cover all the outdoor rides, rock climbing wall and two miniature golf courses.

We booked this week through Interval as an exchange. We only received one call the day before we left inviting us to the timeshare speal. I told them I was not interested as we already owned four and she didn't persue.

I have to say the thing that impressed me the most was the swiftness of the maintenance staff when we had a problem (less than 10 minutes). While getting on the elevator from the first floor at 11:30 pm at night, she dropped her cell phone in the opening for the elevator door (thank god it didn't drop from the fourth floor). Needless to say, I thought it was a gonner. I called the front desk and explained what happened, and the maintenance man had the elevator shaft open and was in there before I got down the stairs (that's service, especially at that hour of the night). And yes, the phone was a little muddy, but worked fine.

I will definately go back to this resort and would highly recommend this to anyone traveling to Myrtle Beach. This is the second Sheraton resort I've stayed at - the first being The Vistana Resort in Orlando (was not impressed, gave it a bad review of condo), and I must say it was like night and day. Myrtle Beach's units are much, much nicer!

  • Liked — Very clean and comfortable and convenient location.
  • Disliked — Would have rather had a full size washer/dryer instead of apartment up/down unit.

My wife daughter (14 yr) and I recently visited the USA from England and stayed at the Sheraton Broadway, Myrtle Beach South Carolina.
We enjoyed our holiday. There is lots to do in the area and we found the people very welcoming and friendly with excellent service wherever we went. The appartment at the Sheraton was very spacious, clean, well furnished and maintained. When booking our holidays we always try to ensure that the hotel has a good swimmimg pool, as swimming and playing in the pool is a favourite pastime. The Sheraton Broadway advertises two outdoor pools, a childrens pool and an indoor swimming pool, so we were looking forward to this aspect of our holiday. However, we found that none of the swimming pools are suitable for adults who want to swim and play. The pools are a standard 3 foot depth throughout. When trying to do an overarm crawl swimmimg stroke, for example, your hands scrape the bottom. In conclusion, a really great place for a holiday, but not for adults who like to swim in a pool.
