We are Starwood owners, so we stayed in a one bedroom "lockoff." The room was nice and clean. We had a handicap-accessible room, so I'm sure the layout was somewhat modified from other rooms, but it was spacious enough for 5 adults to stay (obviously, it was a tight squeeze.) It had a pullout couch, and we rented a cot.

They were building a number of new units nearby, and the noise was terrible. It started early (before 8), and included checking that the fire alarms worked. Also, the unit in which we stayed was located in the building that had the model, so there was an endless stream of people looking at the building, starting everyday at 8:30 a.m. We mentioned the noise issue to several people, but no one even offered to move us. Still, the noise did not ruin our vacation, though it did cut down on our sleep quite a bit.

The pool and lazy river were nice. The bar area was OK, and there was a sizable kiddie pool. Lots of activities for everyone, including mini golf on property.

There is no restaurant on the property itself, though there are many within a mile (walking distance to Broadway at the Beach, if you don't mind the heat). The beach is about the same distance. We walked it once, but the heat had us driving on other occasions.

There were no kids in our party, but clearly, this property is better suited for families. As a group of adults, we probably won't return. We left feeling we had a very average experience.

If you hear your cell phone ringing, and then you realize that it is actually the cell phone in the NEXT Room....
...... You might just be staying at the Sheraton Broadway Plantation in Myrtle beach

If at 2am, you are awaken from your sleep by the sound of the person in the room above you 'tinkling' into their toilet.....

If the cleaning lady walks into your room, without knocking, unannounced at 8:30am when checkout is 10:00 am ..

If the checkout clerk does not ask you "Did you enjoy your stay", or "Was everything o.k?", etc. ......

I stayed in room 326 in Bldg 3 from 6/8 thru 6/12, and let me just say that it was impossible to get any sleep in that room. The walls are paper thin. When I complained to the Sheraton / Starwood employee, he said that they had put us in the 'old' section (Bldg 1-4) and that those buildings were made of 'wood' not 'concrete'. I guess paper comes from wood, so 'some' truth into what he was saying. He said that 'if' were were an 'owner' we would have been placed in one of the new 'concrete' buildings -- where the rooms were soundproof. Hmmmm.. my house is made of 'wood' and it is nowhere near as noisy as this place.

Smug clerks, rude cleaning people, and downright pushy sales people. Never again. Be forewarned.

Please feel free to contact me if you need proof of my stay or would like more info.

Although we have been to Myrtle Beach several times, this is the first time we've stayed at this resort. I have to say, I have absolutely no complaints! Love the gated entrance. We stayed in building #16, fourth floor in #1640. There are only 17 buildings with #18 currently under construction (we were only one building away and did not hear much of the construction noise). Great view of the lagoon with a water fountain. We could also see the fireworks set of at Broadway at the Beach on Tuesday night. The two bedroom/two bathroom unit was very spacious and very, very clean (a big pet peeve of mine). The unit had an apartment washer/dryer (up/down), would have liked a full size for all the beach towels, but I can't complain. The kitchen was very well equipped with nice/heavy dishes, plenty of silverware, glasses and cookware. The family room and dining room were well decorated and comfortable with a screened in balcony that could be accessed from the master bedroom also. It contained a television, dvd/vcr player, and a stereo. The master had a very comfortable (I'm very picky about beds) king size bed with a television and jacuzzi (although we didn't get a chance to use it). The second bedroom had to full size beds, a tv, and access to the second bathroom (this room was on the small side (not much room between the beds or the between the beds and the closet/dresser).

There is only one large pool area with a lazy river (and an indoor pool - nice touch) and that is located behind the main building where you check in. It was very clean and attractive and an easy walk from any building. There is no restaurant on site (not really necessary), but there is a pool bar/snack bar where you can get munchies (such as ice cream, hot dogs, sodas, as well as alcholic beverages).

The location can't be beat. It is right down the street from Broadway at the Beach and has easy access to everywhere (including the beach). There is a Bi-Lo supermarket left on 39th avenue right around the corner. There were fresh vegetable stands all over, and the produce was great! There's a Walmart with in a few miles. We went to the Nascar Speedpark and had a nice time. If you go, purchase the $30 all day wristbands as an adult ride takes three tickets at $3.00 each. This will cover all the outdoor rides, rock climbing wall and two miniature golf courses.

We booked this week through Interval as an exchange. We only received one call the day before we left inviting us to the timeshare speal. I told them I was not interested as we already owned four and she didn't persue.

I have to say the thing that impressed me the most was the swiftness of the maintenance staff when we had a problem (less than 10 minutes). While getting on the elevator from the first floor at 11:30 pm at night, she dropped her cell phone in the opening for the elevator door (thank god it didn't drop from the fourth floor). Needless to say, I thought it was a gonner. I called the front desk and explained what happened, and the maintenance man had the elevator shaft open and was in there before I got down the stairs (that's service, especially at that hour of the night). And yes, the phone was a little muddy, but worked fine.

I will definately go back to this resort and would highly recommend this to anyone traveling to Myrtle Beach. This is the second Sheraton resort I've stayed at - the first being The Vistana Resort in Orlando (was not impressed, gave it a bad review of condo), and I must say it was like night and day. Myrtle Beach's units are much, much nicer!

My wife daughter (14 yr) and I recently visited the USA from England and stayed at the Sheraton Broadway, Myrtle Beach South Carolina.
We enjoyed our holiday. There is lots to do in the area and we found the people very welcoming and friendly with excellent service wherever we went. The appartment at the Sheraton was very spacious, clean, well furnished and maintained. When booking our holidays we always try to ensure that the hotel has a good swimmimg pool, as swimming and playing in the pool is a favourite pastime. The Sheraton Broadway advertises two outdoor pools, a childrens pool and an indoor swimming pool, so we were looking forward to this aspect of our holiday. However, we found that none of the swimming pools are suitable for adults who want to swim and play. The pools are a standard 3 foot depth throughout. When trying to do an overarm crawl swimmimg stroke, for example, your hands scrape the bottom. In conclusion, a really great place for a holiday, but not for adults who like to swim in a pool.

My wife and I just returned from a week’s stay in a premium one-bedroom unit on the 1st floor of Bldg 16, one of the newer buildings. There are 17 total buildings now and more under construction. While we did not see the inside of any of the older units, the outside of the buildings all looked very well maintained. Barbecue grills were available at each building for use by the residents.

Our unit was very spacious (approx. 1000 sq. ft) and had a screened-in porch overlooking a man-made pond. Although we were on the first floor, we never heard any sounds from the unit above us. However, we heard plenty of sounds from the smaller, 1 bedroom unit adjacent to ours which was locked-off. The units have their “lock-off” doors right next to the front doors of each unit and it was very easy to hear the conversations held in the next door unit when guests came or went. It was also easy to hear conversations when we were in the bathroom. The unit was very well furnished and had a large jacuzzi tub and vanity in the bedroom, with separate shower, toilet and vanity in another area.

There is a large indoor-outdoor pool area with lazy river and 2 heated outdoor jacuzzis. There were many deck chairs but it was pretty cool during our stay and very few people were in the outdoor pool area. In warmer weather, it is likely to be pretty crowded considering all the units. There is a free putt-putt golf course near the pool.

All the personnel were very friendly and helpful. We had a problem with a shower door being off the track when we arrived and a maintenance man was there to fix it within 30 min on Saturday morning.

There is no food available on-site but there are so many restaurants available within a short distance from the resort that this is not a problem. Our unit had a full, modern, well equipped kitchen. I understand that a snack bar of sorts will be available on-site later this year.

The unit was well equipped with electronics, including cd/dvd player, 2 tvs and something relatively new, wireless internet in all the units. This was very helpful in checking out local restaurants, golf courses, etc.

We took in the sales pitch for the Starwood system, explaining that we were RCI points owners and had gotten our unit with 7500 pts through an Instant Exchange. The salesman was very nice and gave us his best shot, including a tour of their newest units and a slide show of all their resorts. Starwood seems to have some very nice resorts but we are new to timesharing and are convinced to stick with what we have for now. In return for listening for a bit over 2 hours, we got free tickets to Cirque Grande, which was very entertaining.

There is lots to do in Myrtle Beach. The resort is not on the beach but is only a few minutes drive away. There is plenty of public access to the beach so that should not be a problem. The beach is nice, being hard and flat for good walking/jogging in most areas, except when the tide is high. Broadway at the Beach is an outdoor mall located just a few blocks from the resort, with lots of shops, restaurants and things for everyone to do. Myrtle Beach is known for its multitude of golf courses but we also noted the vast number of miniature golf courses; they seemed to be on every corner. All in all, Myrtle Beach looks like many other beach communities, with some very nice looking hotels/resorts and also many tacky beach-wear shops.

I rated the resort less than excellent because of the noise problem I described above and also because of the faint smoke-odor in the unit. It was only noticeable when you first walked in from the outside, but it was there nonetheless. We are both non-smokers and were surprised to find that there are still smoking and non-smoking sections in South Carolina restaurants. In Florida, smoking is no longer allowed in public areas.
